Aralvaimozhi

Muppandal is a small village on the southern tip of India in Kanyakumari District, in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is located in a hilly region where wind from the Arabian Sea gusts through mountain passes.There is a legend that Avvaiyar had arranged for a marriage, to which she invited the sovereigns of the Chera, Chola and Pandya kingdoms. Thovalai is a small village located in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu, India. The area is well known in India for its production of flowers, especially jasmine. The taluk was among the four in Thiruvananthapuram district that with the passage of the States Reorganisation Act of 1956 were transferred from Thiruvananthapuram district, Travancore-Cochin State to the newly created Kanyakumari district of Madras State (the latter later renamed as Tamil Nadu State).

Chanda Sahib's invasion of Travancore was a military expedition of the Carnatic Sultanate under Chanda Sahib against the Kingdom of Travancore in 1740, in South India. In the event, the Carnatic Sultanate invaded the Kingdom of Travancore, resulting in the Carnatic forces defeating the Travancore army led by Ramayyan Dalawa. Chanda Sahib occupied Travancore territories such as Nagarcoil, Suchindram and Kottar. Marthanda Varma, the Travancore King, offered presents to Dost Ali Khan, the Nawab of the Carnatic Sultanate. Dost Ali Khan accepted the presents and gave the territories back to Travancore.

The Poigai Dam in India was planned, built, and inaugurated in 2000 by the then-ruling government DMK. Kalaingar Karunanidhi, the chief minister of the time was instrumental in the construction, and Durai Murugan, the public affairs minister opened the dam to the public. The dam mainly serves the surrounding localities like Aralvaimozhi for agriculture and drinking purposes. Farmers cultivating crops in 242 acres in Thovalai, Chenbagaramanpudur, Aralvoimozhi, and Pazhavur villages would get water through water channels and 208.23 acres of land would get water for irrigation through eight ponds along the downstream of the dam fed by the water channel. Another 497.62 acres of land would get water through eight other irrigation system ponds fed by the river. The tail-end farmers would benefit from the release of water from the Poigai dam. The full capacity of the dam is 42 feet.

Avaraikulam is a village in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is located 72 km from Tirunelveli and 20 km from Kanyakumari. Most residents are involved in agrarian activities. The Arulmigu Mutharamman Thirukovil Temple in the village is famous for its Vaigasi (A month in the Tamil calendar) Thiruvizha. Avaraikulam is also referred to as 'Asaiyaa Pattinam', meaning 'Immovable Town'.

The ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), located at Mahendragiri of Tamil Nadu, is an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) centre involved in testing, assembling, and integrating propulsion systems and stages that are developed at ISRO's Liquid Propulsion Systems Centres. Formerly, IPRC was known as LPSC, Mahendragiri, functioning under LPSC. It was elevated as an independent centre and renamed as IPRC with effect from 1 February 2014.The complex is situated near Panagudi in Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu.It is one of the ISRO centres that could be called as the "Jet Propulsion Laboratory of India" as all liquid, cryogenic and semicryogenic stage and engine related tests of ISRO's launch vehicles and satellites are carried out here.

The Vaikunda Malai (Tamil:வைகுண்ட மலை) is a hill which is part of the Mahendragiri Hills situated near Athala vilai of Kanyakumari district in the Western Ghats of India. This hill has religious importance in the Ayyavazhi religion during the festival of Ayya Vaikunda Avataram, the day of incarnation of Ayya Vaikundar. During the celebration, two processions, one from Thiruvananthapuram and other from Tiruchendur, reach Athala vilai and circle the hill. A Jyothi (flame) is lit at the top of this hill to symbolise the birth of Vaikundar. Unlike other Ayyavazhi holy places, Vaikunda Malai is not mentioned in the Ayyavazhi scriptures.
