Templand is a village in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, located around 4.5 miles (7.2 km) northwest of Lockerbie. Templand was built during the Industrial Revolution, with the nearby Corncockle Quarry used for quarrying red sandstone to central Scotland and beyond. Stone from the quarry was used in the construction of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow and was quarried for the refurbishment of the gallery completed in 2006. At its height of activity up to the 1930s it had its own mineral line from what is now the West Coast Mainline and up to 6 trains per week of stone were moved to Glasgow, throughout Scotland. Templand lies between the Corncockle woodland, a marsh, and the Kinnel Water. Geographically it is believed that the entire Templand area is on a massive slab of sandstone, due to the Annan river carrying sand down from the Moffat area.

Lochmaben railway station was a station which served Lochmaben, in the Scottish county of Dumfries and Galloway. It was served by trains on a local line which ran between the Caledonian Main Line (now known as the West Coast Main Line) at Lockerbie and the Castle Douglas and Dumfries Railway at Dumfries.

The Kinnel Bridge is a road bridge near the Scottish town of Templand, in the council area of Dumfries and Galloway. In 1971 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists in category B. The upgrade to the highest monument category A took place in 1988. Furthermore, the bridge together with the Todhillmuir Cottage forms a monument ensemble of category B.

Lochmaben Town Hall is a municipal building in the High Street in Lochmaben, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The structure, which accommodates a library and a local customer services point, is a Category A listed building.

Lochmaben Football Club is a Scottish football based in Lochmaben, Dumfries and Galloway. The club took on its current name after a merger with Crichton in 2016. They currently compete in the South of Scotland League.

The Battle of Lochmaben Fair was an engagement in Lochmaben, Scotland, on 22 July 1484 between Scottish loyalists to James III of Scotland and the rebels Alexander Stewart, Duke of Albany and James Douglas, 9th Earl of Douglas, leading cavalry from England. Both exiles from Scotland, Albany and Douglas invaded with permission but not support of Richard III of England, hoping to encourage rebellion against James. Instead, they were met with armed resistance. The loyalists took the day. Douglas was captured and Albany forced to retreat.

Lochmaben (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Mhabain) is a small town and civil parish in Scotland, and site of a castle. It lies 4 miles (6 km) west of Lockerbie, in Dumfries and Galloway. By the 12th century the Bruce family had become the local landowners and, in the 14th century, Edward I rebuilt Lochmaben Castle. It was subsequently taken by Archibald Douglas, 3rd Earl of Douglas in 1384/5 and was abandoned in the early 17th century. The town itself became a Royal Burgh in 1447.

Corncockle Quarry was a large and historically important sandstone quarry near Templand in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Stone from here was used in the late Victorian era to build tenements in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and also to construct New York 'brownstones'.

Lochmaben Castle was a 12th-century castle on the spit of land between Loch Kirk and Loch Castle, in Lochmaben, Scotland. The motte and bailey castle was built in the 12th century by the de Brus family, Lords of Annandale. The castle became the main seat of the de Brus family after Annan Castle was partially destroyed during a flood in the 12th century. The castle was captured in 1298 by King Edward I of England. King Edward began to make improvements to the castle, before deciding to build "New" Lochmaben Castle as a replacement in the 14th century, to the south-east.

Castle Loch is a shallow eutrophic loch covering an area of around 100 hectares in the town of Lochmaben in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The ruined Lochmaben Castle lies at the southern end of the loch.

The Annandale Way is a 90-kilometre (56 mi) hiking trail in Scotland, which is officially designated by NatureScot as one of Scotland's Great Trails. It follows the valley of the River Annan from its source in the Moffat Hills to the sea in the Solway Firth south of the town of Annan. The route, which was established on 12 September 2009, has been designed to be traversable in four to five days as a continuous walk but it also offers several day-walks. Overnight stops can be arranged in small market towns and villages along the route such as Moffat, Johnstonebridge, Lochmaben, Lockerbie, or Annan. The route has been developed by Sulwath Connections and local communities, with the support of local estates and farmers, to help promote Annandale as a new area for walking. Its trailheads are near the Devil's Beef Tub in the Moffat Hills and on the Solway Firth just south of Annan, in Newbie.
