The Building at 5510 North Sheridan is a historic apartment building at 5510 N. Sheridan Road in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1927, the seventeen-story building was originally marketed as luxury apartment housing with views of Lake Michigan. Luxury apartments became popular in the 1920s in Chicago, especially on lakefront plots where developers sought to maximize the land's value; to convince affluent Chicagoans to live in a smaller space, new apartments were frequently compared to Parisian apartments, which had become a status symbol in France in the nineteenth century. Architects Quinn & Christiansen designed the French Renaissance Revival building; the French-inspired architecture was used to market the apartments as Parisian. The building's design features a brick exterior with decorative limestone, quoins around the front entrances, and a cornice below a recessed mansard roof.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 8, 2001.

The Edgewater Beach Hotel was a resort hotel complex on Lake Michigan in the far-north neighborhood community of Edgewater in Chicago, Illinois, designed by Benjamin H. Marshall and Charles E. Fox. The first section was built in 1916 for its owners John Tobin Connery and James Patrick Connery, located between Sheridan Road and Lake Michigan at Berwyn Avenue. An adjacent south tower building was added in 1924. The resort hosted famous movie and sports stars, and later Martin Luther King Jr. It was also the setting for the celebrity stalking case and shooting that inspired the novel and movie The Natural. The hotel closed in 1967, and was soon after demolished. The Edgewater Beach Apartments to the north were completed as part of the hotel resort complex in 1928. The "sunset pink" apartments complemented the "sunrise yellow" hotel in a similar architectural style. The apartments remain standing and have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Manor House is a condominium building in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, USA. Built in 1908, it was designed by John Edmund Oldaker Pridmore in the Tudor Revival style. The building is commonly believed to be the former home of the British consul in Chicago, although the Edgewater Historical Society has argued that there is no evidence for this claim. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It was also included as part of the Bryn Mawr Historic District, which was added to the NRHP in 1995.

The Bryn Mawr Apartment Hotel is a 12-story building in the Bryn Mawr Historic District in far-north neighborhood community of Edgewater in Chicago, Illinois. Located on North Kenmore Avenue, it is across the road from the Belle Shore Apartment Hotel. It was designated a historic Chicago Landmark by the Chicago City Council on November 6, 2002.

Edgewater Presbyterian Church is a Christian church and member of the Presbyterian Church USA. Located in the Edgewater neighborhood community area of Chicago, Illinois, the church is one of several historic buildings of the Bryn Mawr Historic District and is designed in the French Romanesque style. It is celebrating its 125th anniversary having been founded by 43 charter members on June 9,1896. It dedicated an upgraded sanctuary on June 13, 2021, and will have another anniversary celebration on September 26, 2021. The congregation welcomes all people, and values its diversity in cultural, racial ethnic, economic and sexual orientation identities. The congregation expresses love for its neighbors by supporting Care for Real; preparing meals for Sarah's Circle; befriending and sharing Bible study with residents of Bryn Mawr Care; and offering our large building for community events and non-profit organizations.

The Bryn Mawr Historic District (pronounced from Welsh for "big hill") is on the lakefront of the Edgewater neighborhood of far-north Chicago, Illinois. It extends along Bryn Mawr Avenue between Broadway and Sheridan Road. Its most prominent features are the Belle Shore Apartment Hotel, Bryn Mawr Apartment Hotel, Edgewater Beach Apartments, Edgewater Presbyterian Church, Manor House, and the northernmost area of Lincoln Park. Old fashioned green lanterns and lamp posts, reminiscent of Chicago in the 1920s and 1930s, line the Bryn Mawr Historic District streets, adorned with green banners and gold lettering proudly proclaiming the neighborhood's historic significance. It was declared a historic district by the Chicago City Council due to the presence of several Chicago Landmark sites. Bryn Mawr Avenue was named in the 1880s by Edgewater developer John Lewis Cochran after Bryn Mawr station on the Main Line north of Philadelphia. Bryn Mawr is Welsh for Big Hill.

The Belle Shore Apartment Hotel is a building of the Bryn Mawr Historic District in the far-north community area of Edgewater in Chicago, Illinois. Located on West Bryn Mawr Avenue, it is across the road from the Bryn Mawr Apartment Hotel. It was declared a historic Chicago Landmark by the Chicago City Council.

Berwyn is a temporarily closed 'L' station on the CTA's Red Line. It is located at 1121 West Berwyn Avenue in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The adjacent stations are Bryn Mawr, located about 3⁄8 mile (0.60 km) to the north, and Argyle, about 1⁄3 mile (0.54 km) to the south, both still in service and serving as alternate stations. Four tracks pass through the station, but there is only single island platform in the center of the tracks. The two eastern tracks are temporarily out of service for construction and trains on both the Red and Purple Lines pass Berwyn on the western tracks without stopping. When it reopens, it will consist of an island platform with Red Line trains stopping on the inner tracks and Purple Line Express trains bypassing the station on the outer tracks. Berwyn is named for the Berwyn station in the community of the same name, which is west of Philadelphia. Many of the roads (and thus CTA stations) in the Edgewater neighborhood are named after stations on the former PRR Main Line.

Bryn Mawr (pronounced from Welsh for "big hill") is an 'L' station on the CTA's Red Line. It is located at 1119 West Bryn Mawr Avenue in the Bryn Mawr Historic District of the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The adjacent stations are Thorndale, located about one half mile to the north, and Berwyn (temporarily closed), about three eighths of a mile to the south. Four tracks pass through the station, but the two western tracks are currently out of service for reconstruction. There is an island platform in the center of the tracks (currently only the western side of the platform is in use) and a side platform adjacent to the western track; Purple Line weekday rush hour express service pass through the station in the same tracks used by the Red Line but do not stop. The name "Bryn Mawr" comes from the SEPTA Regional Rail (and former PRR Main Line) station located northwest of Philadelphia in the community of the same name. The name came to the area in the 1880s by Edgewater developer John Lewis Cochran, and is Welsh for "Big Hill."

St. Ita's Church is a Roman Catholic church in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. The church building was designed by Henry J. Schlacks in the Neo-Gothic style and completed in 1927. It is located at 5500 North Broadway.

Big Chicks is a gay bar and neighborhood restaurant that opened in 1986 in Uptown, Chicago. It serves a diverse group of LGBT people, straight people and people in the kink community. The owner of the establishment is Michelle Fire. The restaurant next door, Tweet, is also owned by Fire and provides food to Big Chicks.

The Episcopal Church of the Atonement and Parish House is a historic church building at 5751 North Kenmore Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. The Gothic Revival building was constructed in 1889 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
