Deep Run is a tributary of Jones Falls a stream in Baltimore County, Maryland, in the United States.

Brooklandville House, or the Valley Inn, is a historic restaurant and tavern building, and a former inn, located in Brooklandville, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a 2+1⁄2-story stone structure facing the former railroad and dating from about 1832. It is associated with the Baltimore and Susquehanna Railroad, which crossed the property just to the south.Brooklandville House (the Valley Inn), was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 23, 1977. The historic building is situated in the Green Spring Valley Historic District, near Stevenson in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States.

The Cloisters, also known as Cloisters Castle, is a historic home in Lutherville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The building was completed in 1932, after three years of construction. The house is 4 story house, irregular in elevation and plan with much architectural ornament. It is built of large, random-sized blocks of a native gray and gold colored rock known as Butler stone, with details principally of sandstone, wood from the site, plaster, and wrought iron. The main façade is dominated by two asymmetrically placed, projecting sections topped by massive half-timbered gables which were originally part of a Medieval house in Domrémy, France. It also has a massive stone octagonal stair tower, which contains a stone and wrought-iron spiral staircase and is crowned by a crenellated parapet and a small, round, stone-roofed structure from which one can exit onto the roof of the main tower. The house's roof is constructed of overlapping flagstones secured by iron pins, the only roof of this kind in America.The property is owned by Baltimore City and operated by the Baltimore Office of Promotion and Arts, although it is located in Baltimore County. The city ran a children's museum in the building until 1996, when it moved to the Inner Harbor area and was renamed "Port Discovery". The Cloisters is currently operated as a rental facility, hosting over 250 weddings, parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, and gatherings per year. The Cloisters was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

St. Paul's School for Girls (grades 5-12) is an independent college-preparatory school in Brooklandville, Maryland, founded in 1959 to replace an older girls' school which had been closed. St. Paul's School for Girls shares a campus with St. Paul's School for Boys (all boys, grades 5-12), founded in 1849, and with St. Paul's Pre and Lower School (coed, six weeks through grade 4). In July 2018, the schools unified under the umbrella of The St. Paul's Schools, with a single board of trustees and one president, but each school retains its individual traditions and its gender-specific programs.

Brooklandwood, or Brookland Wood, is a historic home located in Brooklandville, Baltimore County, Maryland. Its grounds became developed for the St. Paul's School for Boys. The house is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay dwelling. The central block and two later wings are brick, painted white. The central-block section is original and built about 1790, with porches and Palladian-style windows forming a symmetrical, functional unit. It was owned by Captain John Cockey and then sold to Charles Carroll of Carrollton, and several of his descendants: Carroll's daughter and son-in-law Mary and Richard Caton, parents of Emily Caton, who married John MacTavish, the British Consul to Baltimore in the early 1800s. It was also owned by Isaac E. Emerson, the inventor of Bromo-Seltzer.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 11, 1972.

St. Paul's School for Boys is an Episcopal, coed, private school located in Brooklandville, Maryland. It occupies a 120-acre (0.49 km2) rural campus in the Green Spring Valley Historic District, ten miles (16 km) north of the city of Baltimore in suburban Baltimore County. The school includes a pre-school and a lower school, which are coed through grade 4. The boys school also shares its campus with St. Paul's School for Girls which was reestablished in 1959 after a 19th-century predecessor failed. In July 2018, the schools unified under the umbrella of The St. Paul's Schools, with a single board of trustees and one president; each school retains its individual traditions and its gender-specific programs. St. Paul's School for Boys was founded in February 1849 at Old St. Paul's Parish in Baltimore City by the Reverend William Edward Wyatt, rector. St. Paul's moved its campus four times until its final location at the current grounds in 1952. The principal building on the Brooklandville campus is "Brooklandwood," a mansion built in 1793 by Charles Carroll of Carrollton (1737-1832), one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Rockland is a historic home located on Falls Road in Brooklandville, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a 2+1⁄2-story Greek Revival-influenced house consisting of a three-bay-wide main block, constructed in 1837, with two telescoping additions, a two-bay-wide stage completed in 1852, and a three-bay-wide section built after 1890. The brick structure has been stuccoed and scored to resemble ashlar masonry. Also on the property are a smokehouse, bake oven, a large bank barn, and a late-19th-century frame shed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Maryvale Preparatory School is a Catholic, independent school for girls in grades six through 12. Affiliated with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Maryvale is located in Lutherville, Maryland. It is also affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Rockland Historic District is a national historic district at Brooklandville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is located at the intersection of Old Court Road and Falls Road, where Old Court turns into Ruxton Road. There are 15 buildings in the area, including a general store, tavern, the shell of a blacksmith shop, a carriage house, several log buildings, a group of stone rowhouses, the Rockland Grist Mill, and an 18th-century dwelling. It is one of the surviving examples of a small, quiet, sylvan community of the early 19th century. Rockland Grist Mill dates to at least 1810, and has been used for a variety of purposes, including manufacture of calico, cotton spinning, production of wooden toys and artificial silk, food preservation additives and jewelry cleaning solutions.The area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and underwent restoration in 1982.

The 1899 U.S. Open was the fifth U.S. Open, held September 14–15 at Baltimore Country Club in Baltimore, Maryland. Willie Smith won his only major title, a record eleven strokes ahead of three runners-up.On Thursday, Smith and future four-time champion Willie Anderson co-led with 77 in the morning and Anderson took the lead in the afternoon at 158, with Smith a stroke back. In the third round on Friday morning, Anderson's 85 allowed Smith to take a four-stroke lead over Alex Campbell, and his 77 in the afternoon distanced him from the field; Campbell ballooned to 94 and fell to twelfth. Playing out of Midlothian Country Club in Chicago, Smith was the only player to record three sub-80 rounds, and did not score higher than a seven on any hole in the championship. Val Fitzjohn, George Low, and Bert Way tied for second, eleven strokes behind. Smith's margin of victory was the largest in the U.S. Open for 101 years, until Tiger Woods won by fifteen shots in 2000. Smith's brother Alex, a future two-time champion, finished seventh. Smith won a gold medal and was given custody of the Championship Cup for a year.

The 1988 U.S. Women's Open was the 43rd U.S. Women's Open, held July 21–24 at the Five Farms East Course of Baltimore Country Club in Lutherville, Maryland, a suburb north of Baltimore. Liselotte Neumann won her only major title, three strokes ahead of runner-up Patty Sheehan. From Sweden, she was only the fifth international player to win the U.S. Women's Open. For the first time, the championship was won by non-Americans in consecutive years, as Laura Davies of England won in 1987. At age 22, Neumann was the youngest professional to date to win the title, second by two months to 1967 champion Catherine Lacoste, an amateur who won less than a week after turning 22. She opened with a record 67 on Thursday, and either led or co-led after every round. Sixty years earlier, the East Course hosted the PGA Championship in 1928, won by Leo Diegel. He stopped four-time defending champion Walter Hagen in the quarterfinals, ending his winning streak at 22 matches.
