The Federal Correctional Institution, Loretto (FCI Loretto) is a low-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Pennsylvania. An adjacent satellite prison camp houses minimum-security male offenders. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. FCI Loretto is located in Allegheny Township, Cambria County, in southwest Pennsylvania, between Altoona and Johnstown, 70 miles (110 km) east of Pittsburgh.As of 2016, most prisoners have sentences related to illegal drugs. As of that year, the average sentence length is 12 years, and some prisoners are serving life sentences.

DeGol Arena is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Loretto, Pennsylvania. It is home to the Saint Francis University Red Flash men's and women's basketball teams and the men's and women's volleyball teams. It opened in 1972 and is named in honor of Maurice Stokes. The 1991 Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament was held there. It was most recently renovated in 1994 and can hold 3500 fans.The arena is the centerpiece of the Maurice Stokes Athletic Center.

The Benjamin Franklin Jones Cottage (also known as Braemar Cottage) is a cottage on the National Register of Historic Places in Cresson Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States.In 1990, the mansion was purchased by a group that desired to restore it. In November 2009, a county judge declared the declining property a nuisance and ordered that it be demolished. When the historical group appealed to the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, the town supervisors agreed to postpone the demolition until May 2010. A request for a $150,000 grant that the group hoped could fund renovations was rejected.The structure was saved from demolition in 2011 when it was purchased by a Cresson, Pennsylvania couple who intended to restore it.

Cresson is a borough in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. Cresson is 80 miles (130 km) east of Pittsburgh. It is above 2,000 feet (600 m) in elevation. Lumber, coal, and coke yards were industries that had supported the population, which numbered 1,470 in 1910. The borough is part of the Johnstown Metropolitan Statistical Area, although state and local sources list it as part of the Altoona area due to being much closer to that city. The population of Cresson at the 2010 census was 1,711.The location was named in 1854 as a memorial to philanthropist Elliott Cresson. Railroads, beginning with the Allegheny Portage Railroad, fueled the growth of the area. Many famous Pittsburgh businessmen, including Charles M. Schwab, Andrew Carnegie, and Henry Clay Frick, maintained summer residences in the area. The borough was incorporated in 1906, along with neighboring Sankertown.
