Kessin

The Kösterbeck is a river near Rostock in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is a tributary of the Warnow. The little river runs through the nature reserve of the same name in the parish of Roggentin in a part of Rostock Switzerland. This hilly landscape was formed as a terminal moraine in the ice age. The Kösterbeck is fed from several small runlets, that drain the Teufelsmoor ("Devil's Moor") near Sanitz, and by the Moehlenbäk ca. 1.5 km south of Sanitz. As a result of agricultural use, the Kösterbeck has had its natural course changed. The Kösterbeck is crossed at Kessin by the A 19 motorway and empties, after 1.3 kilometres, into the Warnow.

Bentwisch is a municipality in the Rostock district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, to the east of Rostock. Since its merger with Klein Kussewitz in January 2018, the municipality has 3,174 inhabitants and covers 29.19 square kilometres. Due to its proximity to Rostock, the B 105, and the A 19, Bentwisch became a place of industry after German reunification. Bentwisch has a substation for 220 kV/110kV and the static inverter plant of the HVDC Kontek. Both facilities are a few kilometres away from each other. In 2002 the static inverter plant Bentwisch was enlarged by a substion for 380 kV/110kV and between the static invertor plant and the 220 kV/110 kV-substation, which was built in difference to the static invertor plant at times, East Germany existed, a 110 kV powerline for 3 phase AC was built.

St. Peter's Church, in German Petrikirche, was built in the 13th century and is the oldest of three town churches found in the Hanseatic city of Rostock, in northern Germany. The other two are St. Mary's Church (Marienkirche) and St. Nicholas (Nikolaikirche). A fourth, St. Jakobi, was heavily damaged during the Second World War and subsequently demolished.

Rostock Switzerland (German: Rostocker Schweiz) is a terminal moraine landscape and part of the Kösterbeck Nature Reserve. It lies southeast of the German city of Rostock in the district of the same name. The majority of it is in the municipality of Roggentin. For a region so near the coast, it is very hilly, hence the name Rostock Switzerland. The Kösterbeck is a small river, that runs through a deep incision that emphasises the height differences. The valley of the Kösterbeck lies two metres above sea level, its highest elevation is 66 metres. It has changed its name several times: before 1900 it was known as the Bäukenbarg (i.e. Buchenberg or "beech hill"), during the German Reich it was the Kaiserberg ("Emperor Hill") and in GDR times, Freundschaftshöhe ("Friendship Heights").

The Rostock University of Music and Drama (short HMT, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock in German) is a college of music in Rostock, Mecklenburg, Germany. It opened in 1994 and is situated in a former abbey called Katharinenkloster in the historical core of the city. The college was a member of the Association of Baltic Academies of Music until this association was dissolved in 2016.

The Rostock tramway network (German: Straßenbahnnetz Rostock) is a network of tramways forming the centrepiece of the public transport system in Rostock, the largest city in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Opened in 1881 as a horsecar system, the network was converted to electrical operation in 1904. It is currently operated by Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG), and integrated in the Verkehrsverbund Warnow (VVW).

Kösterbeck (German: Naturschutzgebiet Kösterbeck) is a nature reserve in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was established in 1986. Its territory was expanded in 1990 and reduced on 13 June 1995. It derives its name from a stream flowing from east to west through the area, also called the Kösterbeck, a tributary of the Warnow. Its conservation aim is to preserve and develop the very undulating and varied moraine landscape of Rostock Switzerland with a stream system and adjoining lean pasture, spring bogs and wet meadows.

St. Mary's Church, Rostock, in German Marienkirche, is the biggest of three town churches found in the Hanseatic city of Rostock, in northern Germany. The other two are St. Peter's (Petrikirche) and St. Nicholas (Nikolaikirche). A fourth, St. James' (Jakobikirche), was heavily damaged during the Second World War and subsequently demolished. St. Mary's was designated in 1265 as the main parish church. Since the Protestant Reformation in 1531, it houses a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran State Church of Mecklenburg.

Sildemower See is a lake in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. At an elevation of 13.2 m, its surface area is 0.121 km².
