The Captain William Vicary House is a historic mansion in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located at 1235 3rd Ave. in the borough of Freedom, the house lies along the community's main street above the Ohio River.

The Freedom Area School District is a small, rural, public school district in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA. It serves the boroughs of Freedom, Conway, and the township of New Sewickley. Freedom Area School District encompasses approximately 35 square miles (91 km2). According to 2000 federal census data, it has a resident population of 11,129 people. In 2009, the district residents’ per capita income was $17,961, while the median family income was $46,125. In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501 and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010.The district operates three schools: Freedom Area High School (9th–12th), Freedom Area Middle School (5th–8th), and Freedom Area Elementary School (K-4th).

Freedom Area Senior High School is a public high school in Freedom, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the only high school in the Freedom Area School District. Athletic teams compete as the Freedom Bulldogs in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League.

Conway Yard (also known as Conway Terminal) is a major rail yard located in the boroughs of Conway, Pennsylvania, and Freedom, Pennsylvania, 22 miles (35 km) northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, along the Ohio River. It was the largest freight yard in the world from 1956 until 1980. It is currently owned by Norfolk Southern (NS) and is one of the largest yards in the United States and on the east coast.

The Monaca–East Rochester Bridge is a steel through continuous truss bridge which crosses the Ohio River between Monaca, Pennsylvania and East Rochester, Pennsylvania. It opened in 1959 and was tolled until 1973. By the late 1970s, the segment of PA 51 from 17th Street in Monaca to its concurrency with PA 18 across the Monaca-Rochester Bridge was moved to its current alignment across the Monaca–East Rochester Bridge and its brief concurrencies with PA 65 and PA 68.

Monaca ( mi-NAK-ə) is a borough in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States along the Ohio River, 25 miles (40 km) northwest of Pittsburgh. The population was 5,625 as of the 2020 census. First incorporated as Phillipsburg as the home of the New Philadelphia Society, its name was changed to Monaca in honor of the Native American Monacatootha. Fire clay is found in large quantities in the vicinity, and there is a Stoelzle Glass plant in the town.

Conway is a borough in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States, located along the Ohio River. At the 2020 census, the borough had a total population of 2,168. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Conway is the site of the Conway Yard, a major railroad classification yard and locomotive facility owned by the Norfolk Southern Railway. From 1956 until 1980, it was the largest rail yard in the world.

Northern Lights Shopping Center is a strip mall located in Baden, Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. It was a major power center-style strip mall from its opening until the early 2000's. A Walmart opened on the adjacent lot to Northern Lights in 2014. Parts of the plaza were demolished in 2018.

The Rochester–Monaca Bridge/Monaca–Rochester Bridge is a steel through continuous truss bridge which crosses the Ohio River between Monaca, Pennsylvania and Rochester, Pennsylvania. It opened in 1986 and is the third bridge to occupy the site. It replaced a 1930 steel truss cantilever bridge which itself replaced a suspension bridge built in 1896.

It serves the boroughs of Rochester and East Rochester, and the township of Rochester Township. Rochester Area School District encompasses approximately 5 square miles (13 km2). According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 8,075 people. By 2010, the district's population had declined to 7,046. The educational attainment levels for the school district population (25 years old and over) were 88.3% high school graduates and 14.3% college graduates. The district is one of the 500 public school districts of Pennsylvania. According to the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center, 66% of the district's pupils lived at 185% or below the Federal Poverty Level [1] as shown by their eligibility for the federal free or reduced price school meal programs in 2012. In 2013, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, reported that 11 students in the Rochester Area School District were homeless. In 2009, Rochester Area School District residents' per capita income was $16,567, while the median family income was $40,386. In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501 and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010. In Beaver County, the median household income was $49,217. In 2014, the median household income in the USA was $53,700.Rochester Area School District operates two schools: Rochester Jr-Sr High School (7th-12th) and Rochester Elementary School (K–6th). High school students may choose to attend the Beaver County Career Technology Center for training in the construction and mechanical trades and other careers. The Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit IU27 provides the district with a wide variety of services like: specialized education for disabled students; state mandated training on recognizing and reporting child abuse; speech and visual disability services; criminal background check processing for prospective employees and professional development for staff and faculty.
