WQRV (100.3 FM "100.3 The River") is a commercial radio station licensed to Meridianville, Alabama, and serving the Huntsville metropolitan area. It broadcasts a classic hits radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia. The studios are on Peoples Road near Interstate 565 in Madison, Alabama. On weekdays, WQRV carries two nationally syndicated programs: The Rick Burgess Show from WZZK-FM Birmingham in morning drive time and The Martha Quinn Show from Premiere Networks in middays. WQRV has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 8,500 watts. The transmitter tower is off NW Juniper Drive in Huntsville. WQRV broadcasts using HD Radio technology. The HD2 subchannel has a Top 40 (CHR) format as "106.5 KISS-FM". That feeds an FM translator at 106.5 MHz. The HD3 subchannel plays alternative rock as "ALT HSV".

The Phelps–Jones House is a historic residence in Huntsville, Alabama. One of the oldest buildings in Alabama, it was built in 1818, shortly after the initial federal land sale in Madison County in 1809. Despite having many owners, the original character of the house has remained. The two-story house is built of brick laid in Flemish bond, and has Federal and Georgian details. The original block has a bedroom and parlor separated by a central hall, with a dining room in an ell to the northeast. Staircases in the hall and dining room led to three bedrooms on the second floor. In 1956, a porch in the crook of the ell was enclosed, adding a bathroom and small bedroom. Another porch off the rear of the dining room was enclosed and converted into a kitchen. Interior woodwork, including six mantels, is in provincial Federal style. The façade is five bays wide, with twelve-over-twelve sash windows on the ground floor and twelve-over-eight on the second. A narrow hipped roof porch covers the double front door; originally a wider porch covered a single door flanked by narrow sidelights and topped with a transom. The house was listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1979 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Jemison High School is a new public high school in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. It is named for Mae Jemison, a native of nearby Decatur, Alabama who was the first African-American female astronaut.The school is built on the same campus as McNair Junior High School, which is named for the late Ronald McNair, the second African-American astronaut in space, who was killed in the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger. The school contains a magnet program called the College Academy which works alongside The University of Alabama in Huntsville to provide students with college credit throughout high school. The mascot of Jemison High School is the Jaguars. The school replaces J.O. Johnson High School, which closed its doors at the end of the 2015–16 school year. Jemison Highschool is a 6A school.

James Oliver Johnson High School, more commonly referred to as J.O. Johnson High School or J.O.J., was a public high school located in the northwest area of Huntsville, Alabama. The school served grades 9 through 12. It was home to an International Education Magnet Program, and the school also featured a Marine JROTC program. It was established in 1972 and closed in 2016.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama (TMMAL) manufactures engines for cars and trucks near Huntsville, Alabama, United States. It is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor North America, itself a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan. Construction of the factory was completed in 2003.

Oakwood University is a private, historically black Seventh-day Adventist university in Huntsville, Alabama. It is the only HBCU owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Oakwood University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Department of Education of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (through the Adventist Accrediting Association) to award associate, baccalaureate, and master's degrees. Oakwood University owns and operates the Christian radio station WJOU 90.1 FM, formerly WOCG.Oakwood University is the only ISO 9001 certified HBCU in the United States.In 2014, it became the first HBCU to offer a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).In 2018, the U.S. Senate recognized Oakwood University for being the fifth leading producer of African-American applicants to U.S. medical schools. That same year, the university became the first academic institution to receive the 2018 Crystal Apple Award from the Partnership for a Healthier America for its campus wellness initiatives.

The Jude–Crutcher House (also known as the George Jude House and the David and Lucy Crutcher House) is a historic plantation house in Huntsville, Alabama. The house was built circa 1812 on land deeded that year to Samuel Echols. Echols sold 54 acres and the house to George Jude, Sr., in 1817. Jude died two years later, leaving the land to his son, George Jr. The younger Jude eventually acquired 800 acres (325 ha) and owned 31 slaves. Upon his death in 1873, the land stayed in the family until 1883. In 1906 David Crutcher, who had been born a slave on an adjacent plantation in 1851, purchased the house and 154 acres (62 ha) along with two other African-American men. The Crutchers operated a successful farm on their portion of the land, which was an extension farm for Alabama A&M University until the 1940s. Only 7% of African-American farmers in Madison County in 1910 owned their own farms. David died in 1924, and his wife, Lucy, died in 1943, although the house and land is still in the family. The house is a 1+1⁄2-story dogtrot structure, although the central breezeway was enclosed in the mid-20th century. A plain gabled porch was added at the same time, and shelters the modern front door and a pair of two-over-two sash windows. Six-over-six windows of different sizes sit on either side of the porch, and the façade is clad in clapboards. The metal gable roof has chimneys in each gable end. The interior is of the typical dogtrot layout of two rooms flanking the now-enclosed central hall. A rear shed roofed addition was built to house a bathroom and kitchen.The house was listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1999 and the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Shelta Cave is a 2,500-foot-long (760 m) cave and lake located in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama, United States. It is described as one of the most bio-diverse caves within the Appalachian Mountains. The cave is currently owned and managed as a nature preserve by the National Speleological Society, with their main offices directly above the cave. It was declared a National Natural Landmark in October 1972.

Huntsville Bible College is a non-denominational Christian seminary in Huntsville, Alabama. Founded in 1986, the college offers both associate degrees and bachelor's degrees in Christian Education, Mission and Evangelism, and Pastoral Ministry, as well as a bachelor's in Theology. With 72 students and 13 faculty members, it is one of the smallest post-secondary institutes in Alabama.

The Kildare–McCormick House is a historic residence in Huntsville, Alabama. The highly ornate, Queen Anne-style mansion was built in 1886–87. Its early owners contributed to the development of Huntsville, both through industrial projects and philanthropic efforts. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Lowry House is a historic home in Huntsville, Alabama. It was built circa 1850 by John Tate Lowry, a merchant with the firm of Lowry, Hamilton and Company. Elements of an earlier Lowry family log house, built circa 1809, that stood on the site were incorporated into the new construction.Restoration of the Lowry House began in 1998 with assistance from Harvie P. Jones, a preservation architect. It took a total of four years. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service on October 29, 2001. It was subsequently listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on November 26, 2012.

The Lincoln Mill and Mill Village Historic District is a historic district in Huntsville, Alabama. Opened in 1900, it quickly grew to be Huntsville's largest cotton mill in the first quarter of the 20th century. After closing in 1955, the mills were converted to office space that was used by the U.S. space program. Two of the older production buildings burned in 1980, but one main building and numerous houses built for workers remain. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
