Sauer Buildings Historic District, located between 607 and 717 Center Avenue in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania, consists of a group of buildings designed and built by Frederick C. Sauer from 1898 until his death in 1942. This historic district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 11, 1985.

Fox Chapel Area School District is a public school district located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It serves the boroughs of Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, and Sharpsburg, along with Indiana and O'Hara Townships. It is located approximately 12 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The district has four elementary sites, a middle school, and high school. There are approximately 4,600 students enrolled in the school district.

UPMC St. Margaret is a mid-sized, acute care, teaching community hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, located in the Lincoln–Lemington–Belmar neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, adjacent to the borough of Aspinwall. Situated on 21 acres (8.5 ha), the hospital has 249 beds with more than 800 physicians and 1,500 clinical staff members. In March 2009, UPMC St. Margaret achieved Magnet Recognition status. The Highland Park Bridge is a truss bridge that carries vehicular traffic across the Allegheny River between the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Highland Park and the suburb of Aspinwall. It replaced a much narrower 1902 streetcar bridge that was ill-equipped to handle heavy commuter traffic, as part of the process of suburbanization in the hills northeast of the city.

The Allegheny River Lock and Dam No. 2 (also known as the Highland Park Lock and Dam) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a lock and fixed-crest dam from 1932. It crosses the Allegheny River between the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Highland Park and the suburb of Aspinwall. The lock and dam were built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a part of an extensive system of locks and dams to improve navigation along the Allegheny River. It is the most-used lock operated by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.Lock and Dam No. 2 is located about 6.7 Miles up the Allegheny River from the Point in Downtown Pittsburgh. Upriver from the dam, Allegheny Pool No. 2 has an average water elevation of 721 feet above sea level and extends about 7.8 miles upriver to Allegheny River Lock and Dam No. 3. Downriver is the Pittsburgh Pool with an average water elevation of 710 feet above sea level. Thus Lock No. 2 lifts and lowers boats about 11 feet between the pools.The Pittsburgh Pool encompasses over 24 Miles of navigable water at about 710 feet of elevation. It stretches about 6.2 Miles up the Ohio River from the Emsworth Locks and Dam, 11.2 Miles up the Monongahela River to the Braddock Locks & Dam, and 6.7 Miles up the Allegheny. The Highland Park Bridge crosses the river just above the dam. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

WJAS (1320 AM) is a commercial radio station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The station has a talk radio format, and uses the slogan "The Talk of Pittsburgh". It is owned by St. Barnabas Broadcasting, a division of the Saint Barnabas Health System, with studios and offices on Fleet Street in Green Tree. The transmitter site is off Highland Drive in the Highland Park neighborhood of Pittsburgh. WJAS broadcasts with 7,000 watts non-directional by day. At night, to avoid interfering with other stations on 1320 AM, it reduces power to 3,300 watts and uses a directional antenna.Programming is also heard on a 99-watt FM translator, W256DE, at 99.1 MHz.

Bayernhof Music Museum features a major collection of automated musical instruments from the 19th and 20th centuries. Located six miles (10 km) northeast of downtown Pittsburgh in the suburb of O'Hara Township, Pennsylvania, it is housed in a German-style mansion sited on an 18-acre (73,000 m2) dramatic overlook some 540 feet (160 m) above the Allegheny River Valley. Bayernhof is the name of the mansion itself, a $4.2 million project completed in 1982 as a private residence by Charles Brown III (1935–1999), founder and CEO of Gas-Lite Manufacturing Company in Pittsburgh. The 19,000-square-foot (1,800 m2) house includes a rooftop observatory, an indoor cave, a swimming pool with a 10-foot (3.0 m) waterfall, ten fireplaces, eight full baths, three powder rooms, three full-size kitchens as well as a completely restored copper still. The museum was a directive of Mr. Brown's will, and it opened to the public in 2004.

Waterworks Shopping Mall is an outdoor super-regional shopping mall located on Freeport Road in the city limits of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. The center opened in 1982, and features a gross leasable area of 914,638 square feet (84,972.7 m2). It is managed by J.J. Gumberg Co. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Anchor stores include Barnes & Noble, Dunham's Sports, Giant Eagle, Marshalls, Petco, and TJ Maxx; the mall also features several smaller stores and restaurants, as well as a movie theater. Former anchor tenants include Bed Bath & Beyond, Phar-Mor, Sam Goody, Service Merchandise, and Walmart (previously Hills then Ames). Waterworks Shopping Plaza is home to more than 65 stores and services including food court such as Starbucks, Burgatory, Panera Bread, Uncle Sam's Subs, Five Guys Burgers, Aladdin's Eatery, Italian Village Pizza, Ichiban Hibachi & Sushi Bar, Mad Mex, Subway. On October 24, 2022, it was announced that Walmart would be closing on November 11 due to is past and present financial performance.

The 1902 Highland Park Bridge was a cantilever through truss that carried two streetcar tracks across the Allegheny River and Sixmile Island between the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Highland Park and Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. It was replaced by the Highland Park Bridge in 1938.
