Thaleischweiler-Fröschen is a former Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the Südwestpfalz district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The seat of the municipality was in Thaleischweiler-Fröschen. On 1 July 2014 it merged into the new Verbandsgemeinde Thaleischweiler-Wallhalben. Thaleischweiler-Fröschen is a municipality in the Südwestpfalz district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the western edge of the Palatinate forest, approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of Pirmasens. Thaleischweiler-Fröschen is the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") Thaleischweiler-Wallhalben.

Sportpark Husterhöhe is a multi-use stadium in Pirmasens, Germany. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FK Pirmasens. The stadium is able to hold 10,000 people and opened in 2004. On 5 September 2009, the stadium hosted Germany U-20's 6–1 win over South Africa U-20.

Südwestpfalz is a district (Kreis or more precise Landkreis) in the south of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise) Saarpfalz, the district-free city Zweibrücken, the districts Kaiserslautern and Bad Dürkheim, the district-free city Landau (the Taubensuhl/Fassendeich forest part of the city), Südliche Weinstraße, and the French département Bas-Rhin. The district-free city Pirmasens is surrounded by the district.

Pirmasens Nord (north) station is a station opened in 1875 seven kilometres north of Pirmasens in the municipality of Thaleischweiler-Fröschen in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The station is located next to the hamlet of Biebermühle, which it was named after until 1936. It is the main station within the district of Südwestpfalz.

Maßweiler is a municipality in Südwestpfalz district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany. Maßweiler possessed a large cavern that had been used by Nazis in World War II. There were supposedly five levels in the cave, the lowest of which had trouble with occasional flooding. A large staircase for pedestrian traffic was near the highest point of the cavern, which led to an exit. Beside the stairs were rails that assisted in transport of earth from the cavern as it was being enlarged for German forces. The angle of this stair and matching rail system was estimated to be 30 degrees, and the height of the chamber approximately 175 feet. After the end of World War II, the cavern was occupied by the U.S. Army, in the late 1980s by a communications company. Entering the property, it appeared quite small and remote, but upon entering the cavern, the length and size of the facility was impressive. When the U.S. Army began to downsize in the 1990s, Maßweiler, and associated U.S. Army posts from Husterhoeh Kaserne (Pirmasens), the larger Kassern in the immediate area, were returned to Germany. Other small Army posts within this group were located at Munchweiler, Fischbach, and Clausen.

Pirmasens Hauptbahnhof is a terminal station in the town of Pirmasens, in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, about one kilometre from the city centre. It was opened on 25 November 1875 and is the terminus of the Biebermühl Railway (Biebermühlbahn), which was also opened in 1875 as a branch line from the Southern Palatinate Railway (Südpfalzbahn). The Pirmasens Nord station lies on the edge of Thaleischweiler-Fröschen, so Pirmasens Hauptbahnhof is actually the only station in the city of Pirmasens.

Husterhoeh Kaserne was a military facility in Pirmasens, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Kaserne is a German loanword that means "barracks." It was a United States military base 1945–1994. Since then it is a German base, most of which has closed. The base still has some US military operations and German military storage.

The Battle of Pirmasens (14 September 1793) saw the French Republican corps led by Jean René Moreaux attack the Prussian force led by Charles William Ferdinand, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. From prepared positions, the Prussians caught the French in a deadly crossfire, forcing them to withdraw their troops. The clash happened during the War of the First Coalition, part of a larger conflict known as the French Revolutionary Wars. In 1793 Pirmasens was part of the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt but today the city is in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, 34.4 kilometres (21 mi) south of Kaiserslautern.

Pirmasens (German pronunciation: [ˈpɪʁmazɛns] ; Palatine German: Bärmesens (also Bermesens or Bärmasens)) is an independent town in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, near the border with France. It was famous for the manufacture of shoes. The surrounding rural district was called Landkreis Pirmasens from 1818 until 1997, when it was renamed to Südwestpfalz.
