Concordia Seminary is a Lutheran seminary in Clayton, Missouri. The institution's primary mission is to train pastors, deaconesses, missionaries, chaplains, and church leaders for the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS). Founded in 1839, the seminary initially resided in Perry County, Missouri. In 1849, it was moved to St. Louis, and in 1926, the current campus was built. The St. Louis institution was at one time considered the "theoretical" (academic) seminary of the LCMS while Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne was considered the "practical" seminary, although those distinctions no longer exist. Concordia Seminary currently offers a Master of Divinity degree leading to ordination, as well as Master of Arts, Master of Sacred Theology, Doctor of Ministry, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The seminary is considered theologically conservative. It does not train women for ordination as pastors. However, it does offer a program by which women may be rostered as deaconesses (a category of "ministers of religion" within the LCMS). It promotes historical-grammatical interpretation of the Bible. It is an accredited member of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Radio station KFUO-AM had its studios on the seminary campus until they were relocated to the LCMS International Center, although the station continues to use a transmitter tower on the campus. For many years the nationally broadcast Lutheran Hour originated from this LCMS radio station.

Fontbonne University is a private Roman Catholic university in Clayton, Missouri. It enrolled 955 students in 2021. Fontbonne is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and it offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs. Its athletic teams compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The St. Louis Modern Chinese School (SLMCS, simplified Chinese: 圣路易现代中文学校; traditional Chinese: 聖路易現代中文學校; pinyin: Shènglùyì Xiàndài Zhōngwén Xuéxiào) is an American school that teaches Chinese as a second language and Chinese culture. The school is located in the Esquire Building at 6710 Clayton Road in Richmond Heights, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Founded in 1997 by Chinese Americans of the Mainland China-origin community, the St. Louis Modern Chinese School is a family-oriented non-profit school that is financially supported by volunteers, public donations, and tuition. Students at SLMCS learn about Chinese language and culture, leadership, and responsible citizenship. Students are encouraged to learn about globalization and cultural diversity. Beginning with 40 students, the St. Louis Modern Chinese School had several hundred students within a decade and more than 700 at two decades. In 2017, teachers said most of the parents appeared to be first-generation Chinese immigrants. During the COVID-19 pandemic, enrollment fell by one-third. Still, the school raised nearly $100,000 for COVID-19 relief for the metro area and hosted a Stop Asian Hate rally. In 2022, KSDK described it as "a thriving center supported by nearly a thousand families across the St. Louis metro area."SLMCS is an active member of Chinese School Association in the United States (CSAUS), which has about 150 member schools and more than 20,000 enrolled students. Electives offered by SLMCS began with dance, waist drum, and arts and crafts. Others were added over the years, including martial arts, math, and an essay class whose finished works were published in the Chinese newspapers in St. Louis. Other classes prepare students for SAT II Math Subject Tests and math contests such as MathCounts, to which SLMCS sent a team of students in 2005 and 2006. In 2006, the SLMCS team won 1st place but was unable to go on to State MathCounts because the school was not a Monday-Friday school.St. Louis Modern Chinese School promotes Chinese culture throughout the St. Louis area. SLMCS sets up performances of fan dancing and Chinese Gong Fu and other activities at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, the Missouri Botanical Garden, and various other locations. SLMCS also hosts a Christmas Gala every year featuring performances by students.

Oak Knoll Park is a municipal park in Clayton, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Founded in 1958, it includes 14.5 acres of land that host one of the largest native stands of post oak trees. It also includes two early 20th-century stone mansions.In 1958, the Clayton Board of Aldermen authorized the purchase of a 21-acre tract of land at the northwest corner of Clayton Road and Big Bend Boulevard. City planners had recommended a purchase of land for the city's second municipal park, after Shaw Park, and this tract was deemed the only suitable candidate. Voters approved a $350,000 bond issue a few months later, and the land was ultimately purchased for $400,000. The tract included two stone mansions of about 20 rooms apiece, both built by prominent St. Louisans of their day: 1 Oak Knoll, built by Charles M. Rice and recently vacated by his widow, and 2 Oak Knoll, built by Alvin D. Goldman and then occupied by his widow, Blanche Lesser Goldman.Oak Knoll Park was for several decades the site of the St. Louis Museum of Science and Natural History, an operation of the Academy of Science, St. Louis. In 1959, the academy installed part of its collection, by then a century old, in the park's mansions. The academy paid just $1 per year in rent, but was responsible for upkeep on the buildings. The museum, which was free to enter, was immediately popular with the public, but within a few years, the academy was struggling to fund its maintenance. Similar funding problems with the Saint Louis Zoo and the Saint Louis Art Museum led city leaders in 1969 to propose a tax levy to support all three institutions. When voters approved the levy in 1971, control of the museum and its collection passed to a Board of Commissioners. The museum was eventually closed and part of the collection was transferred to the new St. Louis Science Center, which opened in 1992.In 2021, Clayton leaders announced that renovation of the pond area would be funded by a $150,000 gift.

The Hi-Pointe–DeMun Historic District is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The district, commonly referred to as “DeMun,” is a neighborhood straddling the city limits of St. Louis, Missouri and Clayton, Missouri. The district is roughly bounded by Clayton Road to the south, Big Bend Boulevard to the west, Northwood Avenue to the north, and Skinker Boulevard to the east, and consists of two subdivisions: DeMun Park and Hi-Pointe. In 2005, there were 441 buildings in the district deemed contributing to the historic character of the district, and nine other contributing sites, over a 72.5-acre (293,000 m2) area. In 2007, the boundaries were increased to include an additional 33 acres (130,000 m2) with 111 contributing buildings.DeMun is known as one of the most historically significant neighborhoods in St. Louis, “chock-full of 1920s architecture and peaceful, tree-lined streets.” The neighborhood's residents are a mix of families, young professionals, and students — typically graduate and professional students from nearby Washington University in St. Louis. DeMun is centrally located within the St. Louis metropolitan area and is one St. Louis's most walkable neighborhoods.In addition to Washington University, DeMun is adjacent to Forest Park and conveniently close to multiple movie theaters, grocery stores, large- and small-retail outfits, as well as the cultural attractions of the Delmar Loop in University City and the Downtown Clayton business hub. DeMun Avenue, in the heart of the neighborhood, is home to a number of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and other retail, all within walking distance of one another, and frequented by a somewhat upscale clientele.

Hi-Fi Fo-Fum is an American audio equipment store that began at the dawn of the Hi-Fi era in the mid 20th century. The flagship store was located in Richmond Heights, an inner suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, and was in operation from about 1955 until 2011; another store was opened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in late 1960, closing in the mid 1970s. The Milwaukee store was located at 26th and Wisconsin; advertisements made word play on the stores' name with the phrase "Hi-fi-fo-fum, twenty-sixth and Wisconsinum."[6] The name is a variation on fee-fi-fo-fum, with the phrase "hi-fi" interpolated. The store was founded by Ron Bliffert and the Big Bend store closed shortly after his death. It is noted for carrying a wide variety of high-end audio and video equipment, for installing many custom sound systems in cars, for home installations of home theaters, and for its long-running iconic radio advertisements, known to generations of St. Louisians. At one time, there were five locations, in St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Kansas City.Hi-fi Fo-Fum was given the award for Best Electronics (retailer) in 2010 by the St. Louis Riverfront Times. Attempts by former manager Tony Dollar to keep the Big Bend store intact after Bliffert's death were unsuccessful, and the retail store was liquidated by Bliffert's daughter.

The Brentmoor Park, Brentmoor and Forest Ridge District is a historic district comprising three private subdivisions in the city of Clayton, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, that were platted in 1910, 1911, and 1913, respectively by Henry Wright. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Wilson School is an independent, coeducational, preparatory school in St. Louis for students in pre-kindergarten (three years of age) through grade six. It has been in continuous operation since 1913. The Wilson School is the oldest formalized early-childhood education program in St. Louis. The Wilson School employs 21 full-time teachers, as well as three part-time teachers. The student to faculty ratio is 8:1.

Francis Olympic Field is a stadium at Washington University in St. Louis that was used as the main venue for the 1904 Summer Olympics. It is currently used by the university's track and field, cross country, football, and soccer teams. It is located in St. Louis County, Missouri on the far western edge of the university's Danforth Campus. Built in time for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (1904 St. Louis World's Fair), the stadium once had a 19,000-person seating capacity, but stadium renovations in 1984 reduced the capacity to 3,300 people. It is one of the oldest sports venues west of the Mississippi River that is still in use. Francis Olympic Field now uses artificial turf that can be configured for both soccer and football. Known at its opening as World's Fair Stadium and then as Washington University Stadium or simply "the Stadium", the venue was renamed as Francis Field in October 1907 for David R. Francis, a former Missouri governor and president of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. The word "Olympic" was added in 2019 to reflect its role in the 1904 Summer Olympics.

ThurtenE Carnival is the oldest and largest student-run carnival in the United States of America. Founded in 1908, it is held annually in the spring at Washington University in St. Louis and is organized by ThurtenE Honorary, formerly a secret society.

The Wydown-Forsyth District, in Clayton and St. Louis, Missouri, is a 122 acres (49 ha) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is roughly bounded by Forsyth, Skinker Blvd., Fauquier and Wydown Terrace Dr., and University Lane. The listing included 236 contributing buildings.It includes works by Maritz & Young and other architects.
