The heritage-listed former winery Assmanshausen Winery in Queensland, Australia, was named after this region.

The Waldalgesheim chariot burial (German: Waldalgesheimer Fürstengrab) was a 4th-century BC Celtic princely chariot burial site in Waldalgesheim, Germany, discovered in 1869. It has given its name to the "Waldalgesheim Style" of artifacts of the La Tène culture, a more fluid and confident style of decoration than early Celtic art, with Greek and Etruscan influences. The objects from the burial site were dug up by the farmer who found them on his land. The site was not investigated by archaeologists, and has recently been covered by a housing development.

Presberg was first mentioned in 1391 as Brensbur and, since 1977, is part of the town of Rüdesheim am Rhein. It lies in Hessen and has about 860 inhabitants as of 2007. The air recreation village is situated on top of Rheingau mountains, 8 km north of the center of Rüdesheim.

Aulhausen was first mentioned in 1108 as Aulhausen im Rheingau. It lies in Hessen and has about 1200 Inhabitants (2018). From 1970 to 1977 Aulhausen was a district in Assmannshausen. The wine and air recreation town lies in a valley above Assmannshausen. It is separated from Rüdesheim by Niederwald. Aulhausen as well as Assmannshausen are today part of the municipality of Rüdesheim am Rhein. 100 years before the foundation of Marienhausen craftsmen started building this hamlet. The Agriculture and the wine growing dominated the town character from the end of the 19th to the middle of the 20th. Today the biggest employer in Aulhausen is St. Vincenzstift. The St. Vincenzstift is a widely known facility. St. Vincenzstift work with care and support of disabled children.
