St Mary Magdalen Nunnery (grid reference ST585733) was a priory of Augustinian canonesses in Kingsdown, Bristol, England. It was founded c. 1173 and dissolved in 1536. St Mary Magdalen is remembered in the name of Maudlin Street; the nunnery was located near to the corner of Maudlin Street and St Michael's Hill, which was later the site of the King David Inn.

Colstons Almshouses is a historic building on St Michaels Hill, Bristol, England. It was built in 1691 and has been designated by Historic England as a Grade I listed building. The front wall and gates are also Grade I listed. They are named after the Bristol-born merchant, philanthropist, slave trader, and Member of Parliament Edward Colston. The almshouses were founded by Edward Colston for twelve inmates. They were expected to attend the chapel twice a day for a prayer reading. The baroque chapel contains panels made from ships' timbers and has a barrel vault. On the front wall of the chapel is a plaque to Colston.It is a two-storey limestone building with hipped roofs with triangular canopies over the individual front doors. The building is U shaped, arranged around a courtyard with a wall forming the front of the complex. The windows are divided by stone mullions and transoms. There is a central bell cupola.The building was renovated in 1988. The home provides twelve one-bedroom flats, laundry and communal lounge and a garden. The Society of Merchant Venturers is the trustee for the Almshouses.

The University of Bristol Society of Change Ringers (UBSCR) is a change ringing society. UBSCR is associated with the University of Bristol and is affiliated to Bristol SU. UBSCR was established in 1943 and has rung bells at St Michael on the Mount Without since 1944. Since 1950 there have been over 700 peals rung for the society. UBSCR is also affiliated to the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers and sends two representatives to its AGM.

The Mount Without was a church now a creative space on St Michael's Hill in Bristol, England, near the University. It has been designated as a grade II* listed building, and was described as being in poor condition and on the Buildings at Risk Register.The tower dates from the mid 15th century, however the rest of the church was rebuilt between 1775 and 1777 by Thomas Paty After the building was deconsecrated in 1999 and then burnt down in 2016 its had a complete renovation and now open as a creative space for the city and beyond to use as a unique gathering space, once again.

New Bridewell Tower (or New Bridewell) is a 16-storey student accommodation building located in Central Bristol, England. The £30 million development consists of demolishing the former 1970's New Bridewell Police headquarters and the construction of a 499-bed student accommodation building. The development also includes a public square, which provides a link to the nearby old Magistrates court redevelopment, and 600 sq metres of commercial floor space and public realm improvements.

Broad Street, along with High Street, Wine Street and Corn Street, is one of the four original streets that have made up the city of Bristol since Saxon times, when it was the burgh of Brycgstow.Prior to the building of The Exchange merchants would set up their stalls on Broad Street. An old city gate stands at the bottom of the street, where it joins Quay Street.

Antlers Gallery is a commercial gallery based in Bristol England. Created in 2010 by gallery Director Jack Gibbon, Antlers Gallery produces temporary exhibitions across varying locations, with their only permanent base being online. Dubbed the 'nomadic' gallery, they use a similar business model to pop – up galleries but tie these together under the gallery brand. Antlers also have an active publishing wing working with artists producing limited edition prints and multiples. Antlers Gallery represent a group of contemporary artists through exhibitions, art fairs and consultancy. Although primarily based in Bristol – with exhibitions held in areas such as Park Street, Cabot Circus, Whiteladies Road, Christmas Steps and Bristol Temple Meads railway station. Previous exhibitions have also been held in Stroud, Yorkshire and London. Antlers Gallery exhibit at art fairs across the U.K, including the Affordable Art Fairs and London Art Fair. The Antlers model is based on mutually beneficial relationships with private landlords. These have included:- Land Securities, TCN UK, Jess Properties, Kingsley Thomas, and Linden Homes. Their first pop-up exhibition Grotesques opened in December 2010. Followed by: Uncanny Views, Dark Suits, Botany, Anatomy, Other Nature, Still Chaos, Excursus, Old Beliefs, Narrative, Spatial, BLACKLIGHT, Kindred and Hiatus. In March 2014 Antlers Gallery took over the newly renovated warehouse space Purifier House, next to Bristol's Harbourside and Millennium Square. The property, owned by Linden Homes, showcased three Antlers exhibitions: Gravitas, Exploration and Anima Mundi. Anima Mundi ran from 5 – 27 July. The main focus of the exhibition was a 5m long, concertina bookwork created by Tim Lane. The publication of the bookwork was made possible due to the support of over 140 people who pledged support via the Kickstarter campaign which raised almost £18,000. The exhibition received much media attention, including BBC News and The Independent. In 2014 Antlers Gallery was recognised by The Guardian as one of the top ten venues in Bristol.

The Chapel of the Three Kings of Cologne is a church in Colston Street, near the top of Christmas Steps, Bristol, England. It has been designated as a Grade II* listed building.The Three Kings of Cologne refers to the Biblical Magi. The dedication is a reference to the Shrine of the Three Kings in Cologne Cathedral, Germany. One of the windows shows the nativity of Jesus, which may have contributed to the naming of the Christmas Steps.The chapel was built by John Foster in 1504. He was previously the local High Sheriff, mayor, and member of parliament for the city. The church serves as the chapel for Foster's Almshouses. The master of the almshouses was responsible for maintaining the chapel and appointing a priest.It was refaced and roofed in 1861 by Foster and Wood, with further restoration in 1865 which included niches for the installation of carvings. The three current statues were designed by Ernest Pascoe and installed in the 1960s. On the gable above the statues is a small bellcote.

The Bristol Royal Infirmary, also known as the BRI, is a large teaching hospital in the centre of Bristol, England. It has links with the nearby University of Bristol and the Faculty of Health and Social Care at the University of the West of England, also in Bristol. The BRI is one of nine hospitals operated by the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. It is on the same site as the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, and Bristol Heart Institute (BHI). The Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre has 49 beds and the Bristol Heart Institute has 107, which are not included in the main hospital's total.

Christmas Steps is a historic street in the city centre of Bristol, England.

Greyfriars, in Bristol, England, was a Franciscan friary. The name Greyfriars derived from the grey robes worn by the friars. It was founded at some time before 1234, within the town walls and then moved to Lewin's Mead in 1250. The site included extensive gardens surrounded by a stone wall. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the sixteenth century, the premises were leased to the town council in 1541, who desired to use the stone to make repairs to the town walls, and the harbour facilities. In succeeding centuries many different uses have been made of the site, which is currently occupied by an office block and part of Bristol Dental School.

Foster's Almshouse (grid reference ST586732) is a historic building on Colston Street, Bristol, England. The almshouse was founded by a bequest from the 15th-century merchant John Foster in 1492; his will can be read online.The west wing of the current building was built in 1861, the north wing in 1872, and the south and east wings in 1880-83 by Foster and Wood. The Chapel of the Three Kings of Cologne, which was built for the use of those living in the Almshouse, was restored at the same time.It has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II* listed building.In 2007 Bristol Charities, which runs the almshouse, sold the existing buildings to a developer to develop into private accommodation. This decision was taken because the existing buildings were judged to be unfit for the purpose of housing the old and often infirm occupants who lived there. The proceeds of the sale have been used to establish a new purpose-built 'John Foster's Almshouse' in Henbury in north Bristol.
