Silver Lake is a village in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,516 at the 2020 census. It is a suburb of Akron and is part of the Akron Akron metropolitan area. Silver Lake is between and surrounded by the cities of Stow and Cuyahoga Falls.

Kent State University Airport (FAA LID: 1G3) is a public airport in Stow, Ohio, United States owned by Kent State University. The airport is located along State Route 59 (Kent Road) approximately three miles (5 km) west of the central business district of Kent.Besides being a public airport, the Kent State University Airport is used by the College of Aeronautics and Engineering for its in-house Aeronautics program, which provides flight training and other professional aeronautical training, including Air Traffic Control, Airport Management studies, and air mobility, to enrolled Kent State University students. The airport also operates a Flight Clinic for the general public who are interested in attaining private pilot instruction. Kent State had a leading Pilot Training Bridge Program with United Express designed to help highly skilled and qualified students migrate as a pilot into the airline industry.f In early 2019, the airport received a 5 million dollar grant from FedEx for expansion, including the creation of a new aeronautics center.The airport was named Ohio's Airport of the Year in 2017 by the Ohio Aviation Association. The airport was commended for promoting aviation by providing access and availability to the exchange of ideas and new methods as well as information and experiences.

The Doodlebug disaster was a railway accident that occurred on July 31, 1940, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in the United States. A Pennsylvania Railroad, gasoline-powered "doodlebug" passenger rail car collided head-on with a freight train; the impact and resulting fire caused the deaths of all but three of the 46 onboard.

Chapel Hill Mall is an abandoned enclosed shopping mall located in Akron, Ohio, United States. It was built by Richard "R.B." Buchholzer and Forest City Enterprises, and opened in 1967. At its peak the mall featured more than 100 stores, with Sears, JCPenney, and Macy's as anchor tenants. In 2021, after several years of financial issues and ownership changes, the mall was purchased by Industrial Commercial Properties with the intent of turning it into a business park. Within a few months the mall was permanently closed. The site previously occupied by the mall is now called Chapel Hill Business Park. The main building where the mall used to be is vacant as of September 2023.

The Francis D. Alling House is a historic house at 323 East Avenue in Tallmadge, Ohio. Owner Francis D. Alling, a local builder and craftsman, built the house for himself in 1875 after living in an older house on the property for over a decade. Alling designed the house in the Italianate style, which he also used for several other houses in the area. The two-story house features a tower at its southeast corner which reaches a story above the main house and is topped by a mansard roof. The house's design also includes a full front porch with a bracketed cornice, a projecting bay, and bracketed eaves. Three outbuildings are present on the property: a bank barn that predates the house, an outhouse, and a modern garage.The house was listed in the National Register on November 30, 1987.

Tallmadge High School is a public high school in Tallmadge, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Tallmadge City School District. THS was established in 1879 and the current facility opened in 2008. The school colors are blue and gold and the athletic teams are known as the Blue Devils. Tallmadge is one of seven schools that compete athletically in the American Division of the Suburban League. The population was 18,394 at the 2020 census. Tallmadge was founded in 1807 and is the second-oldest city in Summit County, following Hudson, which was founded in 1799.
