Atwater Congregational Church is a registered historic building in Atwater, Ohio, United States, listed on the National Register of Historic Places since February 23, 1973. It was built in 1841 and incorporates elements of both the Federal and Greek Revival styles and stands over 100 feet (30 m) tall. The church has had a continuous congregation that was founded in 1818 and continues to meet today as a non-denominational church. The building has undergone several renovations and repairs through the years.

It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in northeastern Stark County, in central Lexington Township. It is bordered to the south by the city of Alliance. U.S. Route 62T, a freeway bypass of Alliance, forms the border between Bolton and Alliance and leads southwest 20 miles (32 km) to Canton. Ohio State Route 183 (Iowa Avenue) forms the northeast edge of Bolton and leads north 6 miles (10 km) to Atwater. State Route 619 (Edison Street) leaves Route 183 in the center of Bolton and leads west 11 miles (18 km) to Hartville. Bolton is bordered to the west by Beech Creek, a north-flowing tributary of the Mahoning River, which flows through Youngstown to the Beaver River in Pennsylvania.

The Barber Airport (FAA LID: 2D1) is a privately owned, public-use airport located 3 miles north of Alliance, Ohio.In 1999, Ohio Airships was founded and used space at Alliance Airport to build and test a prototype of a patented airship. The first prototype was completed in 2005.The airport is home to a number of events. Historically, it has hosted the Ohio Aeronca Aviators Fly-In.

WDPN is an AM radio station in Alliance, Ohio, operating on 1310 kHz. The station airs a soft adult contemporary format. It is owned by the family company of Don Peterson who is the former publisher of The Alliance Review, and is co-owned with FM station WDJQ. The station first signed on the air in 1953 as WFAH, originally owned by The Review Publishing Co., with D.A. Peterson as general manager. On September 1, 1990, it became WDPN.

Marlington High School is a public high school in Lexington Township, Ohio near Alliance. It is the only high school in the Marlington Local School District. The name is a portmanteau of Marlboro and Lexington or Washington townships, and the district actually covers those mostly rural areas and northern, western, and southern parts of Alliance itself (the middle and high schools are located just outside the city limits, and there is an elementary school in each of the three townships). Marlington's sports teams are nicknamed the Dukes. The sports affiliation is the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.It opened as the Strand Theatre in May 1927, and it closed in 1960.
