St Bertoline's Church, Barthomley

Barthomley is a village and ancient parish, and is now a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 and the 2011 census' the parish had a population of 202. The village is situated near junction 16 of the M6 motorway and by the border with Staffordshire. It is about three miles south-west of Alsager. The hamlet of Radway Green, location of a Royal Ordnance Factory, is within the parish, north-east of the village of Barthomley and just outside Alsager. There was a railway station in Radway Green, on the Crewe to Derby Line, as well as a station reserved for the factory at Millway. However, both of these are now closed. Radway Green and Barthomley station closed to goods traffic on 7 June 1964, followed by its closure to passengers on 7 November 1966.

The White Lion is a public house in Barthomley, Cheshire, England, just off junction 16 of the M6. It was built in 1614, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. Its thatched roof was damaged by a fire in 2013, but it re-opened later that year. In September 2023, its lease expired and the pub was closed for repairs.

Balterley is a village and civil parish in the borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 204, increasing to 221 at the 2011 census. The parish borders Cheshire to the north, and the village is about six miles south-east of Crewe in Cheshire. Balterley originally was a township within the ancient parish of Barthomley, which mainly lay over the Staffordshire and Cheshire border in Cheshire. On the re-organisation of this ancient parish in 1866, the parish was formed, leaving Barthomley civil parish entirely in Cheshire. In 1965, there was a minor change in the county border of Staffordshire with Cheshire, with Balterley parish exchanging small areas of land with Weston civil parish (in the Cheshire East area). Additionally, some land was lost to Chorlton civil parish, also in Cheshire East.

Radway Green & Barthomley railway station was built by the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) and served the small Cheshire communities of Radway Green, Oakhanger and Barthomley. Located on the NSR line between Crewe and Kidsgrove it was the first station on the route from Crewe. During the Second World War the station was the terminating point for many trains transporting workers to and from the nearby ROF Radway Green. This situation continued until a new station, Millway was built at the factory in 1942.

Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum is in the village of Englesea-Brook, Cheshire, England. Built in 1828, the chapel was one of the earliest chapels of the Primitive Methodist movement, and the Sunday school was added in 1914. Since 1986 it has been a museum of Primitive Methodism. The building is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. In the chapel is a historic pipe organ. The museum contains artefacts relating to the movement, and arranges a changing programme of exhibitions and other events. In the graveyard near the museum is a monument to Hugh Bourne, founder of the movement.

Englesea-Brook is a small rural village in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Located close to Crewe, and to junction 16 of the M6 motorway. One of the main points of interest is Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum, one of the earliest chapels of the Primitive Methodist movement, and a museum of the working-class religious movement, Primitive Methodism.

Millway railway station was a short lived railway station built by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway to serve ROF Radway Green in Cheshire. ROF Radway Green was opened in 1940 and was initially served by the nearby Radway Green & Barthomley railway station but a new station, consisting of an island platform, was constructed a few hundred yards east of Radway Green station to serve the factory directly. The station opened in 1942 and was initially as Mill Lane, in 1944 it was renamed Millway, a name it retained until closure in 1959.At its peak, in 1944, the station was served by 11 passenger trains a day bringing workers from, and returning them to various parts of Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield.

The former Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF), Radway Green manufactures small arms ammunition for the British armed forces. It is located in the hamlet of Radway Green near Barthomley near Alsager in Cheshire in the UK.
