Seeli (Seelisberg)

The Niederbauen-Chulm is a mountain of the Urner Alps, overlooking Lake Lucerne in Central Switzerland. Its 1,923 metre high summit is located on the border between the cantons of Nidwalden and Uri.

Rütli (German pronunciation: [ˈryːtli]) or Grütli (French: [ɡʁytli]; Italian: [ˈɡrutli]) is a mountain meadow on Lake Lucerne, in the Seelisberg municipality of the Swiss canton of Uri. It is the site of the Rütlischwur in traditional Swiss historiography, the oath marking the foundation of the original Swiss Confederacy. As such it is treated as a national monument of Switzerland. Since 1860, the Schweizerische Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft (SGG) has organized a celebration at the site on Swiss National Day (1 August), since 1994 recognized as a public holiday. Rütli is only accessible by boat from Lake Lucerne or by foot from Seelisberg.

The Seelisberg Tunnel is a motorway tunnel in Switzerland. The tunnel links Beckenried, in the canton of Nidwalden, with Seedorf, in the canton of Uri, running under the mountains that form the south shore of Lake Lucerne. It forms part of the A2 motorway between Basel, on the border with Germany and France, and Chiasso, on the border with Italy. Completed in 1980, the twin bores of the tunnel are 9,250 metres (30,350 ft) and 9,292 metres (30,486 ft) in length. After the Gotthard Road Tunnel, this is Switzerland's second-longest road tunnel but unlike the Gotthard Tunnel which crosses the Alps completely north to south, the Seelisberg Tunnel is situated only in the northern side of Alps. The Seelisberg tunnel can be considered to be the longest Swiss twin tube Road tunnel with split traffic (Southbound in one bore, and Northbound in another one). The accident rate in the Seelisberg tunnel is very low. Most fatal accidents happened during bidirectional traffic, when the other tube was closed.

Bauen is a former municipality on Lake Lucerne in the Swiss canton of Uri. On 1 January 2021 the former municipality of Bauen merged into the municipality of Seedorf.

The Treib–Seelisberg railway (German: Treib–Seelisberg-Bahn; TSB) is a funicular railway in the canton of Uri, Switzerland. The line links Treib, on Lake Lucerne, with Seelisberg on the mountain 330 m above. At Treib the funicular connects with regular passenger boats of the Schifffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstättersees, which connect it to Lucerne and other lakeside communities.The line was granted its concession in 1910, with construction starting in 1914 and the line was opened in 1916. The current cars were supplied in 1965 and refurbished in 1992, whilst the control system was replaced in 1996.

Treib is a small lakeside community and landing stage on the shore of Lake Lucerne and in the Swiss canton of Uri. It forms part of the municipality of Seelisberg, to the centre of which it is linked by the Treib–Seelisberg funicular. The landing stage is a regular calling point of the passenger boats of Schifffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstättersees, which provide links to the city of Lucerne and many other lakeside communities.

Ingenbohl (High Alemannic: Ingäbohl) is a municipality in Schwyz District in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland.

The Oberbauenstock is a mountain of the Urner Alps, overlooking Lake Lucerne in Central Switzerland. Its 2,117-metre-high (6,946 ft) summit is located on the border between the cantons of Nidwalden and Uri.

The Muota is a river in the Swiss canton of Schwyz and a tributary of Lake Lucerne. It has a length of 29 km (18 mi).The Muota rises on the Ruosalp, an alp to the north of the Glatten on the border between the cantons of Schwyz and Uri. Initially, it flows in a northerly direction through the tiny Bisistal before turning west to the villages of Muotathal and Ried.Beyond Ried, the river flows through a narrow defile between the Gibelhorn and Stooshorn, passing under the Stoosbahn funicular that serves the mountain resort of Stoos, as it does so. After leaving this canyon, the river turns north to reach the village of Ibach in the municipality of Schwyz. At Ibach the river turns west again, then shortly afterwards passes under the A4 motorway and the Gotthard railway line before receiving the Seeweren, which is the outfall stream of Lake Lauerz. Here it flows south-west to enter Lake Lucerne on the west side of the town of Brunnen in the municipality of Ingenbohl.

Morschach is a municipality in Schwyz District in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland. It was a world-famous resort from 1869 up to the Great Depression.
