Évreux Cathedral

The Diocese of Évreux (Latin: Dioecesis Ebroicensis; French: Diocèse d'Evreux) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in France. The diocese comprises the department of Eure within the Region of Normandy. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Rouen, and the current bishop is Christian Nourrichard, who was appointed in 2006.

It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. It included a part of Évreux and the communes of Arnières-sur-Iton, Aulnay-sur-Iton, Caugé, Claville and Saint-Sébastien-de-Morsent.

Évreux (French pronunciation: [evʁø] ) is a commune in and the capital of the department of Eure, in the French region of Normandy.

Évreux Portes de Normandie is the communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Évreux. It is located in the Eure department, in the Normandy region, northern France. It was created on 1 January 2017 by the merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération d'Évreux and the Communauté de communes La porte normande. On 1 January 2018 it was expanded with 12 communes from three other intercommunalities. Its area is 659.3 km2. Its population was 110,023 in 2015, of which 46,707 in Évreux proper.

Évreux-Normandie (until recently: Évreux Embranchement) is the train station for the town of Évreux, Eure, France. It was built by CF de l'Ouest in 1887 (the line opened in 1855). The station was named Embranchement as it stands at the junction of the lines to Paris and to Rouen. The line to Rouen is now closed but a disused freight line to the northern suburbs of Évreux remains. The station building was heavily bombed during World War II but rebuilt identically to the original building afterwards. Évreux-Normandie is on the main line from Paris to Cherbourg (Mantes-la-Jolie–Cherbourg railway) and is the main stop for regional double-decker trains (TER Normandie) from Paris to Serquigny.
