Northwood Community Park

The Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial is a memorial in Irvine, California, to American troops who lost their lives in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The names on the memorial come from US DoD casualty records for Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. Located at Northwood Community Park, on the corner of Yale and Bryan in Northwood, Irvine, California, it is the only known memorial in the United States dedicated to listing by name all American service men and women killed in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. Local community members assembled annually from 2003 through 2010 to erect a temporary memorial in the park, hold public ceremonies on Memorial Day, July 5, September 11, Veterans Day and conduct nightly candlelight vigils throughout each June and early July. A permanent memorial was built as a joint community and city project in the same location as the temporary memorial as part of the 14-acre (57,000 m2) community park. It was dedicated in a ceremony on November 14, 2010.

The Frances Packing House in Orange County, California near Irvine, California is a historic packing house that was built in 1916. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1977.The packing house closed in 1971, and the building was demolished in 1977. One wall of the building was saved and is now part of a bank in the Walnut Shopping Center.

Heritage Park is located in the city of Irvine in Orange County, California. The park sits next to Heritage Park Regional Library on the corner of Yale and Walnut Avenue(s), and is adjacent to Irvine High School. It was for decades recognized by its iconic wooden "water tower" slide, which stood three stories tall. Originally built in 1976, the decaying structure was removed in the mid-2000s following a re-design of the play area. The park was also known to children of the 1980s for its tractor-tire maze, which was removed in the early 1990s to make way for a playground and basketball courts.

The Islamic Center of Irvine (ICOI) is a mosque and Islamic community center founded by the local Muslim community in the city of Irvine, California on August 28, 2004. It is one of the largest Muslim congregations in California, with an estimated 5,000 worshipers attending weekly programs, and offers a variety of services from youth programs (including an annual summer camp for children) to senior workshops and interfaith sports activities. The Islamic Center of Irvine is partnered with the Islamic Society of Orange County in nearby Garden Grove, the Orange County Islamic Foundation in Mission Viejo, and the Islamic Institute of Orange County in Anaheim. Approximately five miles in length, it primarily follows Jeffrey Road spanning nearly the entire city, from just past Portola Parkway in the north to the Quail Hill open space in the south for 5 miles (8.0 km).Through a series of community meetings, Jeffrey Open Space was commissioned to be a centerpiece greenspace through the heart of Irvine, providing amenities to residents and visitors and connecting with other parks and trails at multiple points. Serving several communities developed by the Irvine Company, the park design was commissioned to SWA Group landscape architects and was completed in stages in the mid-1990s.

Arnold O. Beckman High School is a public school in Irvine, California, United States, serving 3,013 students from grades 9 through 12. The original $69 million facility (equivalent to $99 million in 2021) was opened on August 30, 2004. The World Languages Building - a new, $17 million, two-story, 30,000-square-foot facility - was unveiled on September 1, 2015. The school is commonly known as Beckman and is named after Arnold Orville Beckman: a scientist, chemist, and philanthropist famed for inventing the pH scale during his tenure at Caltech and funding Silicon Valley's first semiconductor company (Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory, a division of Beckman Instruments, Inc.). Since its founding in 2004, Beckman has been awarded the status of a California Distinguished School by the California State Board of Education in 2007, 2011, 2015, and again in 2019. Beckman primarily serves the communities of Irvine, Tustin, Santa Ana, Tustin Ranch, Northpark, Northwood, Sheridan, Orchard Hills, and West Irvine. Although its facilities are physically located in Irvine, the school is administered by Tustin Unified School District. Beckman's mascot is the Patriot. Beckman is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is also a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and complies with the NACAC Statement of Principles of Good Practice.

The William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center is an aquatics venue located in Irvine, California, United States. The City of Irvine operates year-round municipal programs in aquatic facility. The center provides a venue for local, regional and national competitive events and features two 50 meter pools and a 25-yard instruction pool. Aquatics activities include a combination of instructional, educational, recreational and competitive programs offered by the City and a number of local nonprofit aquatic organizations. During the 1984 Summer Olympics, it hosted the swimming portion of the modern pentathlon event. It has since hosted the 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, the United States Swimming National Championships in 2005, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018, and the 2015 USA Water Polo National Junior Olympics. The facility, originally named the Heritage Park Aquatics Center, was renamed after the City of Irvine's first City Manager and rebuilt beginning in 2003.

As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,968 students and 60 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 30.7.
