Lai da Curnera

The Rein da Maighels (German: Maighelserrhein) is one of the main tributaries of the Rhine (see Sources of the Rhine) and is a tributary to the Rein da Curnera. The firm Kraftwerke Vorderrhein AG has built a hydropower dam creating a reservoir, called the Lai da Curnera, into which both rivers now flow. The origin of the Rein da Maighels is the Maghels Glacier (Romansh: Glatscher da Maighels) on the Piz Ravetsch near the point where the cantons of Graubünden, Ticino and Uri meet. From the glacier, the Rein da Maighels flows north, through the Val da Maighels, then east, through Val Platta' between Piz Cavradi and Piz Piogn Crap, then into Val Curnera and into the Lai da Curnera reservoir.

Piz Cavradi is a mountain of the Swiss Lepontine Alps, located south of Tschamut in the canton of Graubünden.

Piz Maler is a mountain of the Swiss Lepontine Alps, located south of Sedrun in the canton of Graubünden. It lies at the northern end of the range between Lai da Curnera and Lai da Nalps.

The Rein da Curnera (in German: Curnerarhein) is a right tributary of the Anterior Rhine and one of the main tributaries of the Rhine (see Sources of the Rhine). It is fed from multiple sources and glaciers at the southern end of the valley. The river is about 8 kilometres (5 mi) long and flows north through the Val Curnera. Approximately in the middle of its route, a dam was constructed by Kraftwerke Vorderrhein AG (the local hydropower company), which formed Lai da Curnera. At this point, the Rein da Curnera takes up a left tributary, the Rein da Maighels. The Rein da Curnera flows into the Anterior Rhine near Tschamut in the Tujetsch valley.

Piz Alpetta is a mountain of the Swiss Lepontine Alps, located south of Tschamut in the canton of Graubünden. It lies north of Piz Ravetsch, on the range between the Val Maighels and the Val Curnera.

Tschamut-Selva railway station (German: Bahnhof Tschamut-Selva) is a railway station in the municipality of Tujetsch, in the Swiss canton of Grisons. It is an intermediate stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Furka Oberalp line of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.

The Tomasee (Romansh: Lai da Tuma or Lag da Toma) is a lake at the northern face of Piz Badus, above the village of Tschamut in Grisons, Switzerland. Its surface area is 2.5 ha (6.2 acres). It is the source of the Anterior Rhine and is deemed to be the official source of the Rhine (the source of the Posterior Rhine is above Hinterrhein, Switzerland, at 46.499°N 9.065°E / 46.499; 9.065 (Source of Hinterrhein)). It is possible to reach the lake on a path from Oberalp Pass, suitable for most walkers although still a mountain trail.

Lai da Nalps is a reservoir in the municipality of Tujetsch, Grisons, Switzerland. It has a capacity of 45 million m³ and a surface area of 0.91 km². The reservoir is connected to Lai da Sontga Maria and Lai da Curnera in neighboring valleys.

Dieni railway station (German: Bahnhof Dieni) is a railway station in the municipality of Tujetsch, in the Swiss canton of Grisons. It is an intermediate stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Furka Oberalp line of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.

Oberalp Pass (Romansh: Alpsu or Cuolm d'Ursera; German: Oberalppass) (2044 meters above sea level) is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps connecting the cantons of Graubünden and Uri between Disentis/Mustér and Andermatt.

Oberalppass railway station (German: Bahnhof Oberalppass) is a railway station in the municipality of Andermatt, in the Swiss canton of Uri. It is an intermediate stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Furka Oberalp line of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. It serves the mountain location and ski area of the Oberalp Pass.

Oberalpsee is a lake just below Oberalp Pass on the side of the Canton of Uri in Switzerland.
