Penkill Castle is a 16th-century castle with later additions. It is around 1⁄2 mile (800 metres) south of Old Dailly, northeast of Girvan in south Ayrshire, Scotland.

Killochan Castle is a 16th-century L-plan tower house about 3 miles (4.8 km) north east of Girvan, South Ayrshire, Scotland, north of the Water of Girvan, and south of Burnhead.The castle is well-preserved and occupied. It has been a Grade A Listed building since 1971.

The Ailsa Bay Malt Whisky Distillery was built by the William Grant & Sons company to meet their needs for malt whisky for their blended whiskies. The distillery was built near the site of the Girvan distillery. It was officially founded in 2007. The opening was attended by Prince Charles in 2009. In March 2019, Ailsa Bay released a new brand of scotch whisky which was protected with blockchain technology to prevent counterfeiting. In September 2019, Ailsa Bay released Aerstone, a new brand of single malt scotch whisky. William Grant & Sons says it is aimed at new whisky drinkers that find established single malts like Glenfiddich and The Balvenie “too complex with intimidating choice and language”.

Girvan railway station is a railway station serving the town of Girvan, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail, who operate all passenger services from there. It is on the Ayr to Stranraer section of the Glasgow South Western Line and is situated 62 miles (100 kilometres) south of Glasgow Central. It has two platforms and is the location of one of the five passing loops on the single track line between Dalrymple Junction (south of Ayr) and Stranraer. Immediately south of the station, the line climbs steeply towards Pinmore tunnel – the climb is known as the Glendoune Bank and has a ruling gradient of 1 in 54.

The Water of Girvan (or River Girvan) (Scottish Gaelic: Garbhan / Abhainn Gharbhain) is a river in South Ayrshire, which has its source at Loch Girvan Eye in the Carrick Forest section of Galloway Forest Park. This 28-mile (45-kilometre) river passes through the villages of Straiton, Crosshill and Dailly en route to the Firth of Clyde at Girvan Harbour.
