Old Hall Green

Standon Priory was a priory in Essex, England.

St Edmund's College is a coeducational private day and boarding school in the British public school tradition, set in 440 acres (1.8 km2) in Ware, Hertfordshire. Founded in 1568 as a seminary, then a boys' school, it is the oldest continuously operating and oldest post-Reformation Catholic school in the country. Today it caters for boys and girls aged 3 to 18.

Colliers End is a village in the civil parish of Standon, in the East Hertfordshire district, in Hertfordshire, England. It lies upon what was the A10, however the A10 Wadesmill by-pass has now been built around Colliers End and neighbouring villages. What was the A10 that used to run through Colliers End and the neighbouring settlements were once part of the Roman road, Ermine Street. It is 1.9 miles (3.1km) away from Standon and 5.7 miles (9.2km) away from the county town of Hertford. The population was 415 as of the 2011 census.

Plashes Wood is a 71.9-hectare (178-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Standon in Hertfordshire. The local planning authority is East Hertfordshire District Council. The wood is private property.The site is mainly oak and hornbeam woodland near the northern limit of its natural distribution. It has varied ground flora on soils from damp heavy clay to light gravels. Common plants include bramble, bluebells and dog's mercury. There are also ponds and extensive clearings dominated by bracken, and other flora including hoary cinquefoil.There is access from a footpath next to Colliers End church in Ermine Street.

Standon Green End is a hamlet situated just off the A10 road between Ware and Puckeridge in Hertfordshire. At the 2011 Census the population of the hamlet is included in the civil parish of Standon. Standon Green End is most notable for being at the final landing point of Vincenzo Lunardi's historic first hot air balloon flight in 1784. There is a boulder near to the settlement, with a plaque attached, the text reading: Let posterity know and knowing be astonished that on the 15th day of September 1784 Vincent Lunardi, of Lucca in Tuscany, the first aerial traveller in Britain mounting from the artillery ground in London and traversing the regions of the air for two hours and fifteen minutes. In this spot revisited the Earth on this rude monument that wondrous enterprise, successfully achieved by the power of chemistry and the fortitude of man that improvements in science which the great author of all knowledge patronising by his providence the invention of mankind, hath graciously permitted to their benefit and his own eternal glory.

Puckeridge is a village in East Hertfordshire, England with a population of 3,561 (2011 Census). It is in the civil parish of Standon.

East Hertfordshire is one of ten local government districts in Hertfordshire, England. Its council is based in Hertford, the county town of Hertfordshire. The largest town in the district is Bishop's Stortford, and the other main towns are Ware, Buntingford and Sawbridgeworth. At the 2011 Census, the population of the district was 137,687. By area it is the largest of the ten local government districts in Hertfordshire. The district borders North Hertfordshire, Stevenage, Welwyn Hatfield and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, and Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford in Essex. In the 2006 edition of Channel 4's "Best and Worst Places to Live in the UK", East Hertfordshire was rated the seventh-best district to live in. In 2012, East Hertfordshire came ninth in Halifax bank's annual survey of most desirable places to live. It came first in this survey in 2020.

Great Munden is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England. The parish, in the district of East Hertfordshire, spans 3,758 acres (5.872 sq mi), of which 1,895.75 acres (2.96211 sq mi) are arable land, 927.5 acres (1.4492 sq mi) are permanent grass and 97 acres (0.152 sq mi) are wood. It has a population of 477, reducing to 339 at the 2011 Census, and is situated 6 miles (9.7 km) north of the town of Ware. The village includes the church of St Nicholas, Munden Bury, and a rectory that includes the remains of a moat. Other settlements in the parish include Nasty and Levens Green. A detached portion of Little Munden was added to the parish in 1888.

Nasty is a hamlet in the East Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire, England. It is in Great Munden civil parish, around 6 miles (10 km) north of Ware and around 7.5 miles (12 km) east of Stevenage. At the 2011 census the population was included in the civil parish of Albury. Its name comes from the Anglo-Saxon æt þǽm éastan hæge, meaning "at the eastern hedged enclosure" or similar.

Barwick, Great Barwick, and Little Barwick (Berewyk 14th century, and Barrack 19th century) are hamlets in the civil parish of Standon in Hertfordshire, England. They are near the A10 road and the village of Much Hadham and the hamlet of Latchford. The River Rib flows behind Barwick and through Great Barwick. There is a ford crossing at Great Barwick.

It is 4.6 km (2.9 mi) north of the town of Ware and 7 km (4 mi) north east of the county town of Hertford. The population was 853 as of the 2021 census.
