Glenamaddy Turlough

Glenamaddy GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Glenamaddy, County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Glenamaddy compete in the Galway Intermediate Football Championship yet they have not won the competition in their history.

Glenamaddy (Irish: Gleann na Madadh) is a small town in County Galway, Ireland. It lies at the crossroads where the R362 and R364 regional roads meet. Glenamaddy became a musical focal point in Connacht during the 1960s during the showband era.To the east of the town lies Loch Lurgeen, a raised bog. The origins of the parish lie in the village of Boyounagh, which lies to the northwest of Glenamaddy.

Kilkerrin (Irish: Cill Choirín) is a village in County Galway, Ireland. It is situated on the R364 regional road 6 km south of the town of Glenamaddy. Features in the area include Kiltullagh Lake and the Lough Lurgeen raised bog. The local Gaelic Athletic Association club is Kilkerrin-Clonberne. The local soccer club is Kilkerrin United FC, who play in Division 1 of the Roscommon and District league.

Williamstown (Irish: Baile Uilliam/Baile Liam, meaning 'William's town') is a small village located on the R360 regional road in the townland of Corralough in northeast County Galway, Ireland. According to the census in April 2016, the population of the village was 148.Founded in the 1830s, the village of Williamstown takes its name from William McDermott, a local landlord and barrister who owned the nearby Springfield estate.Williamstown GAA fields an Intermediate and Junior Gaelic football team as well as various underage teams. The Intermediate team were promoted from Junior A in 2006. Irish dancing groups and the Williamstown Scouts hold meetings in the parish hall that is also used as the playschool. The town's national school (primary school) is Sacred Heart National School.Williamstown hosts an annual festival in August. It includes treasure hunts, sports days, and other activities.

Richmond Esker is a national nature reserve of approximately 39 acres (0.16 km2) located near Moylough, County Galway, Ireland. It is managed by the Irish National Parks & Wildlife Service.

The Carrownagappul Bog (Irish: Portach Ceathrú na gCapall) Special Area of Conservation or SAC is a Natura 2000 site in County Galway, close to the town of Mountbellew in County Galway, Ireland. The site qualifies for Special Area of Conservation status under three criteria: the presence of active raised bog, of degraded raised bogs still capable of natural regeneration, and of depressions on peat substrates of the Rhynchosporion.

Moylough ( moy-LOKH; Irish: Maigh Locha, meaning 'plain of the lake') is a small rural village located in County Galway in Ireland. It is located on the N63 national secondary road (Cnoc Tua Mór–Longford), and is served also by the R328 and R364 regional roads. It is 50 km from Galway, 30 km from Roscommon, and 5 km northwest of Mountbellew. It is twinned with Elliant in Brittany. It used to be part of the kingdom of the Soghain of Connacht. Moylough is the birthplace of Thomas Higgins who became the shortest serving MP in Westminster when, representing the Irish Parliamentary Party, he was posthumously declared elected a Member of Parliament of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland on 26 January 1906.Thomas Carr, Archbishop of Melbourne 1886–1917, was born near Moylough in 1839.There is a statue of the Galway Gaelic Footballer Enda Colleran in the town.Former Irish Rugby Manager Eddie O'Sullivan is from Moylough.In 1947, the Moylough Belt-Shrine, an 8th century Irish reliquary shaped in the form of a belt, was found here by a peat bog by John Towey while he was cutting turf near Moylough.

Kilkerrin-Clonberne is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Clonberne, County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. They achieved Senior status in 1996 and have competed in the Galway Senior Club Football Championship up until 2015. They were relegated to the Intermediate ranks by a strong Kilconly side. Notable former players include Johnny Geraghty & Christy Tyrell, members of Galway's famous 3 in a row team and John Divilly, a member of Galway's All-Ireland triumph in 1998. In 1999, the Ladies football club in Clonberne won a club All-Ireland.
