Red Oak Community House, also known as Red Oak Community Building, is a historic clubhouse located at Red Oak, Nash County, North Carolina. It was built in 1935, and is a one-story, side-gable, Rustic Revival style log building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The building consists of a main block and wing, and features two large stone chimneys. It was built under the direction of the Emergency Relief Administration (ERA) to serve as the home of the Red Oak Home Demonstration Club.

Dortch House is a historic home located in Dortches, North Carolina, Nash County, North Carolina. It was built about 1803, by William Dortch, and is a Federal-style frame dwelling that consists of a two-story, three-bay, main block covered by a gable roof and a one-story rear wing. It is sheathed in weatherboard and features a one-story full-width front porch and Palladian windows. The house was purchased by Henry Griffin in 1899 from the Dortch family and remained in the Griffin family until 2020. The one-story full-width front porch was added by the Griffin family sometimes before the 1910s. A one-bay portico with columns was the original porch to the house. The back section of the house was a free standing federal farm house that was close by the house. It was built around 1779. There was a log kitchen out back of the Dortch House which burned down (date?). At that time, the federal farm house was moved up to the Dortch house and connected. Sometimes in 1942, the family who owned the home remodeled the entire back section of the house using a mix of new and old timber. In keeping with the exterior of the front house, the weatherboard around the back section of the house was specially milled to match the front of the house. There is deterioration on the outside of the house and some less inside. The house sits on the Halifax Road and the old Red Oak Road. The Old Halifax Road was an old Stagecoach road that ran from near Elm City, NC and Halifax, NC. Halifax, NC is a Historical Site which is a State Park. The Halifax Stagecoach Road was a major road through the area. Halifax, NC was a political site where people met, including George Washington, to hammer out parts of the Constitution. The Dortch House, one of the finest Federal farmhouses in the state according to Thomas T. Waterman. The house has been vacant for several years now, in disrepair. The house was purchased by an individual in 2020 and is undergoing rehabbing. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Nash Community College is a public community college in Nash County, North Carolina. It is part of the North Carolina Community College System. On June 9th, 2023, Nash Community College hosted President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden.

The Nash Rocky Mount Early College is a 9–13 public high school in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, United States. Students attending the early college attend for either four or five years, instead of just the traditional four. However, instead of receiving just a high school diploma, they also get a two-year associate degree or two years of college transfer credit.

Nash UNC Health Care, opened in 1971 as Nash General Hospital, is a general hospital located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. It was the first all-private-room hospital in North Carolina. It is home to a women's center, a cardiovascular services department, and a critical care unit. A subunit of the hospital, known as Nash Day Hospital, opened in 1984 as a free-standing outpatient surgery center. The hospital also operates the Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center in honor of Kinston, North Carolina native Bryant T. Aldridge, the first manager of Nash General, which opened in 1999, and the Coastal Plain Hospital, a mental health facility. In 2004, the hospital opened a state-of-the-art Surgery Pavilion, followed in 2014 by the opening of a new Emergency Department and a new Nash Heart Center. In 2014, Nash Health Care became affiliates with UNC Health Care. In May 2016, the hospital opened the doors of its new $25 million Nash Women's Center.Nash is a member of the UNC Health Care system, a non-profit integrated health care system, owned by the state of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Nash Central High School is a Nash-Rocky Mount public high school located on the western edge of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and a member of the Eastern Plains 2-Athletic Conference. As of 2009–2010, Nash Central is home to over 1,200 students, 79 full-time educators—of which 32 have either earned an advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) or are certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards—as well the personnel employed in administration, guidance and support positions. In 2010, the U.S. News & World Report named Nash Central High a "Best High Schools in America" Bronze Medal School.

It is part of the Rocky Mount, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Nashville was 5,632 in 2020. It is the county seat of Nash County. The town and its county were named for Francis Nash, an officer of the North Carolina militia who died in the American Revolutionary War.

Bissette-Cooley House is a historic home located at Nashville, Nash County, North Carolina. It was built in 1911, and is a two-story, double pile central hall plan Classical Revival frame dwelling. It has a slate covered, steeply pitched hipped roof topped with a broad deck. It features a full-height pedimented portico overlapping a one-story wraparound porch. It was the home of Congressman Harold D. Cooley. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is located in the Nashville Historic District.

Nash County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Nashville, Nash County, North Carolina. It was built in 1921, and is a two-story, rectangular, brick building in the Colonial Revival style. It has a T-shaped in plan, with the temple-form main block flanked by small brick wings. The interior was remodeled in 1974. An expansion to the courthouse was started in 2017 and finished in 2018. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located in the Nashville Historic District.

The Nashville Historic District is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places, located in Nashville, the county seat of Nash County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 142 contributing buildings and 3 contributing structures, the majority of which date from between 1890 and 1930. They represent notable examples of Greek Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival architecture. Two properties within the district are separately listed on the National Register: the Bissette-Cooley House and the Nash County Courthouse. Other notable buildings include the Graphic Building (c. 1910), the Baldy Batchelor Livery Stable (c. 1900), Weldon's Department Store (1913), the Ricks-Strickland House (1890s), the Squire Harper House (1868), the Neville-Strickland House (1907), two metal-veneered Lustron houses, Primitive Baptist Church, First Methodist Church (1923), and a former Baptist Church. The Nashville Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 22, 1987.
