Dr. E. H. Ward Farm is a historic home and farm located near Bynum, Chatham County, North Carolina. The main house was built in sections during the mid-19th through early-20th century beginning about 1840. The earliest section is a 1+1⁄2-story, gable-roofed, two room log structure, that forms the rear of the main section. The main section was built about 1870, and is a one-story, gable-roofed frame structure with a simple gable-front porch. A one-story board-and-batten rear ell was added about 1900. Also on the property are the contributing office of Dr. Ward, carriage house and gear room, board-and-batten barn and log cribs, smokehouse and pen, and a small brick well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Woods Charter School is a charter school in Chatham County, North Carolina. Founded in 1998, Woods Charter School is a North Carolina public charter school, serving approximately 500 students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. In 2007, private funding was secured to construct a new school building, and in August 2008, Woods Charter School moved to its current location. Concurrently with the building project, The Woods Charter School Foundation, Inc. was established to raise funds for outfitting the building and meeting the ongoing needs of the school. During the 2016–2017 school year, the school constructed a new third science lab to complement the two existing science labs in the high school wing. The elementary school has approximately 32 students per grade level and average class sizes of 16. Special features of the elementary school include a focus on the Core Knowledge Curriculum, Singapore math, physical education, art, music and French with specialist teachers, regular field trips and outstanding high school students serving as teaching assistants.The middle school has approximately 40 students per grade level and average class sizes of 20. Northeast District Park is a 66 acre public park in Chatham County, North Carolina in the United States, operated by the Chatham County Parks and Recreation Department.Amenities include a regulation-size baseball field with lights and bleachers, two regulation tennis courts, a multipurpose field for soccer, ultimate, football, rugby, and other field sports approximately 125 by 85 yards with bleachers (approx. 150 seats), a restroom/concession building, a picnic shelter with pond view, a playground, a 1/4-mile asphalt walking trail that loops the pond, and parking. The pond existed as part of the farm that was on the parklands before the park was developed. Use of firearms is forbidden in the gamelands around the park. Signs are posted to indicate that only bow hunting is allowed in this area.

Robert Joseph Moore House is a historic home located at Bynum, Chatham County, North Carolina. It was built in 1929, and is a two-story, four-square, brick dwelling with a brick foundation and a low pyramidal roof with Colonial Revival and American Craftsman design elements. Also on the property are the contributing garage (c. 1930) and barn (c. 1930).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Governors Club is a golf course community and census-designated place (CDP) in Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 1,969.The community is in northern Chatham County, 7 miles (11 km) south of Chapel Hill. It is bordered to the northeast by the Governors Village CDP. The 667-foot (203 m) summit of Edwards Mountain is in the west-central part of the Governors Club CDP.

Bynum is an unincorporated community in northeastern Chatham County, North Carolina, United States on the banks of the Haw River. Bynum is five miles (8.0 km) north of Pittsboro and eleven miles (18 km) south of Chapel Hill. It is also known as Bynum Mill Village or Bynum Mill Hill.Bynum's most notable building is the Bynum General Store at 950 Bynum Road, Bynum, NC 27228. For many years the store, run by Frank and Louise Harris, was known as Harris and Farrell General Store. The post office, once located at an older store to the south, brought everyone in town and many nearby rural residents to the store. Retired loggers, business people, and mill workers often sat on the bench in front of the store passing on news and rumors and telling stories. The store was a natural community center and information hub. When the store and post office closed in 2006, the community formed a non-profit called Bynum Front Porch and kept the store in use as an event and community center. The Bynum Front Porch Music Series runs every Friday evening, May–September at the Bynum General Store. Tift Merritt started her music career playing on the General Store's front porch.
