Castlewood Canyon State Park is a Colorado state park near Franktown, Colorado. The park retains a unique part of Colorado's history, the remains of Castlewood Canyon Dam. Visitors can still see the remnants and damage from that dam which burst in 1933. The event sent a 15-foot (5 m) wave of water all the way to downtown Denver resulting in a flood. Also contained within the park is the historic Cherry Creek Bridge.

Pike's Peak Grange No. 163 is an historic Grange hall located at 3093 N. State Highway 83 in Franktown, Colorado. Pike's Peak Grange No. 163 was organized in 1908 and its meeting hall was built the next year. It was the successor to Fonder Grange founded in Franktown in 1875.On October 1, 1990, Pike's Peak Grange No. 163 was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Ponderosa High School, commonly referred to as Pondo or PHS, is a public high school in Parker, Colorado. It is part of the Douglas County School District RE-1. Located in The Pinery, an unincorporated community south of Parker along SH 83, Ponderosa is the second oldest high school in Douglas County and the original high school in the Parker area. The school's team name is "The Mustangs" which was first adopted in 1980.Ponderosa first opened its doors in January 1983, five months later than anticipated due to construction delays. The school began with three grades with a small capacity but then added its fourth grade in 1992 as the population in Douglas County grew, thus increasing enrollment. Around the same time, additional classrooms were added on to the school to benefit the student capacity. Enrollment later dropped when two more high schools were added in the Parker area, when Chaparral opened and then later, Legend. The school earned an "Excellent" rating by the Colorado Student Assessment Program in 2004, and a "High" score in 2005.

Bayou Gulch is one of the tributaries of Cherry Creek, located mainly in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is part of the Colorado Eastern Plains. An archaeologically sensitive portion of the gulch was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.

The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of The Pinery CDP was 11,311 at the United States Census 2020. Douglas County governs the unincorporated community. The Parker post office (Zip Code 80134) serves the area.

Castle Rock is the most populous Colorado town (rather than city) and the 16th most populous Colorado municipality. The town is named for the prominent, castle-shaped butte near the center of town.

Castle Rock is a butte in the Colorado Piedmont region of the Great Plains. An area landmark, it is the namesake of the town of Castle Rock, Colorado.The mesa’s caprock consists of rhyolite, rock which is strongly resistant to erosion. About 58 million years ago, a volcanic eruption took place that covered the area around Castle Rock with 20 feet (6.1 m) of rhyolite. After a few million years, mass flooding and erosion of the volcanic rock gave way to the butte-shaped mesa that almost resembles plateau.Public hiking trails on the mesa are in Rock Park, at the intersection of Front Street and Canyon Drive in the town of Castle Rock. The trailhead and parking are about two blocks south of the intersection on Front Street, for a 1.4-mile round-trip hike to the base of the town's namesake (climbing the rest of the way to the summit is discouraged by a sign warning that the loose rocks are a fall hazard). Other trailheads can be found along Canyon Drive and Sunset Drive.

Elizabeth is a Statutory Town that is the most populous municipality in Elbert County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 1,675 at the 2020 United States Census, a +23.34% increase since the 2010 United States Census. Elizabeth is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor.

The First National Bank of Douglas County, at 300 Wilcox St. in Castle Rock, Colorado, in Douglas County, Colorado, was built in 1904. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It was designed by architect George Louis Bettcher. It was deemedsignificant for its architecture. It is an excellent intact example of the Late Victorian design with many elements of Romanesque Revival style.... The two-part corner commercial building is faced with rock-faced rhyolite stone that was quarried outside of Castle Rock. This building was the second home for the bank and represents economic shifts occurring in the community as the bank sought a more permanent home during a time of community growth and as the bank shifted from out of state "back East" investors to local ownership. It has also been known as the Masonic Building. Its second floor was originally used as a meeting hall for local fraternal organizations. The building was vacant for three years starting in 1933, then purchased by the local Masons.It is the only architect-designed Romanesque Revival building in Castle Rock.
