Holt End, Worcestershire

Beoley is a small village and larger civil parish north of Redditch in the Bromsgrove District of Worcestershire. It adjoins Warwickshire to the east. The 2001 census gave a parish population of 945, mostly at Holt End. The parish includes the hamlet of Portway, adjacent to the A435 road. It adjoins the Redditch suburb of Church Hill and the civil parishes of Alvechurch, Tanworth-in-Arden, Mappleborough Green and Wythall.

Gorcott Hill is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Tanworth-in-Arden, in the Stratford-on-Avon district, in the county of Warwickshire, England. It is near the villages of Mappleborough Green & Studley, which are both in Warwickshire. Gorcott Hill is also near the large Worcestershire town of Redditch.

Arrow Valley Country Park (also known as Arrow Valley Park) is a country park on the River Arrow, at Redditch, Worcestershire, England. Built by Redditch Development Corporation in the 1970s. It has 900 acres (3.6 km2) of public open space and incorporates the 27 acres (11 ha) Arrow Valley Lake, popular for dinghy sailing, fishing and birdwatching. The lake is home to Redditch Sailing Club (racing up to 14 ft (4.3 m) boats) and the Youth Afloat initiative, which provides sailing experience for children would not otherwise have the opportunity. The park was recognised with a Civic Trust Green Flag Award in 2005. A visitor centre, the Countryside Centre (access off the B4497, Battens Drive) was opened in 2000 and is open most days.

The River Alne is a tributary of the Arrow and has its headwaters to the north of Wootton Wawen.

RSA Academy Arrow Vale (formerly Arrow Vale High School) is a co-educational upper school and sixth form with academy status located in Redditch, Worcestershire, England. The school is sponsored by the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce opening as an RSA Academy in September 2012. The school is a member of the RSA Family of Academies.It currently has around 620 students on roll with 180 in the sixth form.

Ipsley Court was a 16th-century country house, much altered in the 18th and 20th centuries, situated at Ipsley, once Warwickshire, now since 1931, Worcestershire. It currently comprises two disconnected wings (known as Ipsley Court, and Ipsley Barn), both Grade II listed buildings which are in commercial use. The Manor of Ipsley was held by the Huband family from Norman times. The house, originally comprising a central block and two wings to the north and south, was built for Sir John Huband Kt in the 16th century. The estate was sold in 1724, following the death of Sir John Huband Bt. The new owner, the Rector Rev. John Dobson demolished the central block leaving two unconnected wings. The south wing was used residentially, the north was converted to a stable block. In the mid 18th century the property passed to Samuel Savage, whose nephew Walter Savage Landor later restored the buildings and added an apselike structure to the south wing. The property was much altered and modernised when it was converted to commercial use in the 20th century. For many years it was occupied by The Law Society, and now is occupied by the head office of Knights Pharmacy, a regional chain of pharmacies.

Mappleborough Green is a small village and civil parish in Warwickshire, in the non-metropolitan district of Stratford-on-Avon. The village has a population of 540 and the civil parish 857.Mappleborough Green lies on the extreme western edge of Warwickshire adjacent to Redditch and thus forming part of the county border with Worcestershire, and adjoins the parishes of Studley, Tanworth-in-Arden, Beoley, Morton Bagot and Oldberrow. The western edge of the parish is largely aligned with the A435 trunk road from Evesham to Birmingham.

Studley Football Club is a football club based in Studley, near Redditch, Warwickshire, England. They play in the Midland League Premier Division.

Bordesley Abbey was a 12th-century Cistercian abbey near the town of Redditch, in Worcestershire, England. The abbey's foundation was an act of Waleran de Beaumont, Count of Meulan, who gave the monks of Garendon Abbey in Leicestershire some more land. However, Empress Matilda laid claim to the patronage of Bordesley once Waleran surrendered to her in about 1141, thus making Bordesley a royal house. Bordesley Abbey was once an important local ecclesiastical centre, holding political control of the ancient township of Tardebigge. It was demolished by Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries in 1538 and the property was sold. The ruins are now an archaeological site, undergoing investigation since 1969 by the University of Reading's Bordesley Abbey Project. Many of the excavated items can be seen in a visitor centre and museum at the site, which is joined with the Forge Mill Needle Museum. Guy de Beauchamp, 10th Earl of Warwick, was buried in the Abbey.

Ladbrooke is an historic estate in the parish of Tanworth-in-Arden, Warwickshire, England. The early history until the late 14th century is sparse and inextricably confused (even in the authoritative Victoria County History) with the manor and parish of Ladbroke near Southam in Warwickshire, 34 km to the south-east. The confusion arises not only because both places within the same county are spelled variously and identically in historic documents, but mainly because the mediaeval de Lodbroke family appear to have held estates in each place. The 1619 Heraldic Visitation of Warwickshire which gives the pedigree of the "de Lodbroke" family, states them as "Dominus de Lodbrooke" (lord of the manor of Lodbrooke) and makes no mention of Tanworth-in-Arden. The Victoria County History is however clear that the seat of the de Lodbroke family was Ladbroke near Southam and not Ladbrooke in the parish of Tanworth-in-Arden.

The Forge Mill Needle Museum in Redditch, Worcestershire, is a historic museum depicting Redditch's Industrial Heritage. Opened in 1983 by Queen Elizabeth II, it records how in Victorian times, Redditch was the international centre of the needle and fishing tackle industry and once produced 90% of the world's needles. Models and recreated scenes provide a vivid illustration of how needles were once made, and the museum organises exhibitions, demonstration, and workshops on how needles were used in the textile industry. Forge Mill Museum is open to visitors from February to November. It is near to the ruins of Bordesley Abbey.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Redditch, Worcestershire, England. It was built from 1833 to 1834 and designed by Thomas Rickman in the Gothic Revival style. It is located between Beoley Road West and Holloway Lane in the town centre. It is a Grade II listed building.
