Jacksonville is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Tompkins County, New York, United States. The community is located within the Town of Ulysses, along New York State Route 96. It is 3.5 miles (5.6 km) southeast of Trumansburg. Jacksonville has a post office with ZIP code 14854, which opened on February 25, 1820.

Ulysses Philomathic Library is a public library in the village of Trumansburg, New York which is located within the town of Ulysses. The town existed at the time the library was founded as a private association in 1811 but the village was not incorporated until 1872. Philomathic means “love of learning”. The library serves the town of 4,775 residents according to the 2000 census. Work began on the current Greek Revival and brick library building in June 2000. The library is a member of the Finger Lakes Library System.

First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses is a historic Presbyterian church located at Trumansburg in Tompkins County, New York. It is an imposing temple front Greek Revival style structure built in 1849–1850. The church is a 61 feet by 57 feet, gable roofed brick structure that is dominated by a monumental, pedimented portico supported by five massive, fluted Doric order columns. A tripartite bell tower crowns the roof ridge.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Tremans spelled their surname several different ways; "Truman," however, was not one of them. The village's application for a post office established the present spelling. Hermon Camp House is a historic home located at Trumansburg in Tompkins County, New York. It was built in 1845-1847 and consists of a two-story central block flanked by two slightly lower wings in the Greek Revival style. The main block is dominated by a full-height portico with six fluted Doric order columns supporting full entablature and parapet. Attached to the west wing of the main block is a carriage house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.The house is privately owned and used as a residence, and so is not open to the public. The owners occasionally open it for local charity and political events.
