Quogue, New York

Quogue was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road and the station was built around June, 1875. During construction the station was moved by the village "on a Sunday morning" from its original and current location to a location on Old Depot Road. The second depot was built around 1882 and later was moved to a private location around 1905. The third depot was built around 1905 and at some point was elevated for the bridge over the former New York State Route 113. The station house was razed around April, 1964 but the station stop itself continued to operate until March 16, 1998. This station, along with nine others around that time were closed due to low ridership, was deemed not cost-effective to rebuild with high-level platforms to support the new C3 railcars the LIRR was procuring at the time.

The Quogue Historic District is an area of historic residences in Quogue on the East End of Long Island, New York. The historic houses include structures that date from the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries and retain their architectural and historic integrity. The district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district in 2016.

Quogue Life-Saving Station is a historic U.S. government building at Quogue in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1912 by the United States Life-Saving Service in the Shingle Style, as a replacement for a deteriorating 1849-built station. It is a 1+1⁄2-story gable-roofed structure. It features a 4-story, wood-shingled tower topped by a hipped roof. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The first Quogue life saving station was a garage-type building that was built in 1849 and involved with the rescues of the ships the “Infanti” (1851); and the “Europa” (1886). It was replaced in 1872 with a red house (wings were later added in 1887) and this life saving station participated in the rescue of the “Nahum Chapin” (1897); and the “Augustus Hunt” (1904). The original red house station still exists but was moved a few hundred yards eastward and is now used as a private home. The new Lorain style shingled Quogue Life-Saving Station with a four-story tower, designed by architect Victor Mendelheff, was built in 1912 and incorporated into the US Coast Guard in 1915. It is one of the few remaining examples of this type of structure and today it functions as a private home.

Quiogue is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Southampton, in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 816 at the 2010 census. The name of the CDP was corrected from "Quioque" to "Quiogue" by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2010.

Crowther House is a historic home located at Westhampton Beach in Suffolk County, New York. It is a large, two-story wood-frame house in the Shingle Style and built in 1910. It features a gambrel roof with long shed dormers. Also on the property is a detached garage.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

East Quogue is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Southampton in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 4,757 at the 2010 census.

Westhampton Beach Post Office, the U.S. post office in Westhampton Beach, New York, is located at 170 Main Street between Mill Road and Beach Road. It serves the ZIP code 11978, and is southeast of the Westhampton Post Office on Mill Road. Westhampton Beach Post Office was designed by Louis A. Simon in conjunction with the United States Treasury Department. Simon also designed the Post Office buildings in Bay Shore, Northport, and Riverhead. His public buildings were in the Colonial Revival style.

Foster-Meeker House is a historic home located at Westhampton Beach in Suffolk County, New York. It was built about 1750 and is a classic Long Island, Cape Cod-type dwelling. It is a one-story, five-bay, center-door dwelling whose compact massing is characteristic of mid-18th century construction. It was acquired by the Westhampton Beach Historical Society in 2008 and moved to its present location to prevent demolition.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
