Suurhusen

The Leaning Tower of Suurhusen (German: Schiefer Turm von Suurhusen) is a late medieval steeple in Suurhusen, a village in the East Frisian region of northwestern Germany. According to the Guinness World Records it was at one time the most tilted tower in the world, although intentionally inclined towers such as the Montreal Tower far surpass it. The Suurhusen steeple as of 2007 claimed to be the unintentionally tilted tower with the greatest angle of lean in the world, 1.22° more than Leaning Tower of Pisa.

OLT Express Germany (formerly OLT Ostfriesische Lufttransport GmbH or OLT) was an airline based in Bremen in Germany. The company moved to Bremen from Emden in February 2012. It operated regional scheduled and charter flights linking northern Germany to other parts of the country and Bremen to other European destinations. Its main base was Bremen Airport.

Osterhusen is a village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Administratively, it is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Hinte, of which it is located to the northeast. Westerhusen is to the west of Suurhusen and Loppersum. The village dates back to the 10th century as Ostahusun. In 1611, the Accord of Osterhusen was concluded here in which Count Enno III of East Frisia made peace with his rebellious subjects under pressure from the States-General of the Dutch Republic.

Hinte is a village and a municipality in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 20 km south of Norden, and 6 km north of Emden.

Wolthusen is a former village in Lower Saxony, Germany and borough (Stadtteil) of Emden. It was incorporated into the city in 1928. The village character can still be found around the old village church from 1784. The church, located on a yard, was built on the location where a predecessor had already been built in the fifteenth century. The name of the village refers to its location in low, swampy meadows (wold), composed of -husen, i.e. 'houses'.

Loppersum is a village of almost 1,500 inhabitants in the municipality of Hinte, East Frisia, Germany. Most of the working people have a job in the neighbouring city of Emden.

It is the terminus of the Emsland Railway, connecting Emden with Münster and the Ruhr and the starting point of the East Frisian coastal railway from Emden to Norden and Norddeich, both of which are electrified. It is also connected to the city’s second busiest station of Emden Außenhafen (outer harbour) by a line that has been electrified since 2006.

Ihlow (East Frisian Low Saxon: Îl) is a village and a municipality in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 8 km southwest of Aurich, and 15 km east of Emden.

Westerhusen is a village in the region of East Frisia, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Administratively, it is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Hinte, of which it is located to the southwest. Westerhusen is about 5 kilometers to the north of Emden. The Church of Westerhusen from the 15th century is located in the middle of the warft on which the village is built. The church had a Romanesque predecessor from the 13th century. The church organ in this building dates from 1643.
