The Mars Hill Network is a network of Christian radio stations in upstate New York. The first station, WMHR 102.9 FM in Syracuse, New York), went on the air in 1969. In 1988, an additional station WMHN 89.3 FM in Webster, New York, began broadcasting and was joined in 1991 by WMHI 94.7 FM in Cape Vincent, New York, serving Jefferson County and eastern Ontario, WMHQ 90.1 FM in Malone, New York, in 2003, WMHU 91.1 FM, in Cold Brook, New York, in 2011., WMHY 88.5 FM, in Richfield Springs, New York, and WMHH 96.7 FM, in Clifton Park, New York, in 2019.

The Gen. Orrin Hutchinson House, also known as the General George Hutchinson House, is the only Town of Onondaga site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Orrin Hutchinson was a Brigadier General of the militia. He died in 1842. He served as supervisor of the Town of Onondaga.The house is located at 4311 West Seneca Turnpike. It has operated as a restaurant for many years. At one time the restaurant was called "The General Hutchinson House"; later it was renamed "The Inn of the Seasons". It was constructed around 1812, and shows Dutch and other architectural influences.

WSYR-FM (106.9 MHz) is a commercial radio station licensed to Solvay, New York, and serving the Syracuse metropolitan area and Central New York. Owned and operated by iHeartMedia, it broadcasts a talk radio format, simulcast with WSYR 570 AM since January 2011. The studios and offices are on Plum Street in Syracuse. WSYR-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 9,000 watts. The transmitter is off West Seneca Turnpike, on the campus of Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. WSYR-FM broadcasts using HD Radio technology. One of its digital subchannels simulcasts the urban adult contemporary programming of co-owned WHEN 620 AM. Another subchannel carries Christian worship music from the "Air1" network.

Onondaga Community College (OCC) is a public community college that serves Onondaga County and Central New York and is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. OCC's 280-acre main campus is located in the town of Onondaga which borders the city of Syracuse.

Onondaga Hill is a hamlet in the Town of Onondaga in Onondaga County, New York, United States, southwest of the city of Syracuse. It is located on the Seneca Turnpike at the intersection of New York State Route 173 and New York State Route 175. Onondaga Hill was the location of the first Onondaga county courthouse, built in 1805 and in use as a school after the county seat moved to Syracuse in 1830. Until 2005, the hamlet was the location of Onondaga's town hall. The Onondaga Free Library and the Town of Onondaga Historical Society are in Onondaga Hill. Community General Hospital and Van Duyn Home and Hospital are located on the eastern edge of the hamlet, near the Syracuse city line. The main campus of Onondaga Community College lies on the hamlet's western edge. Onondaga Hill is populated mainly of middle-class families. The children of Onondaga Hill attend the Westhill Central Schools district.

Owned and operated by iHeartMedia, it broadcasts a news/talk format, calling itself "Newsradio 570 WSYR." The station has simulcast on WSYR-FM 106.9 MHz Solvay since January 2011. The studios and offices are on Plum Street in Syracuse. WSYR transmits with 5,000 watts, using a directional antenna with a three-tower array. The transmitter is off Valley Drive at Dorwin Avenue near Onondaga Creek.

The Polaski King House was a Federal style house located at 2270 Valley Drive in Syracuse, New York. It was built around 1810 of brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern on a limestone foundation. Polaski King was an early settler of what was then Onondaga Hollow. He founded the first school in the settlement and was involved in local government. The house is no longer standing.

Corcoran High School is a public high school located in Syracuse, New York, having approximately 1800 students. In 2005, it became a member of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. It is one of the top 1000 ranked schools in the country as of 2009, but has been in the top 600 (2007). The principal is Daniel Straub.

The Church of the Good Shepherd is a historic Episcopal church located on the Onondaga Indian Reservation near Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York. It is an older building that was remodeled in 1869-1870 for Episcopal worship. It is a one-story, rectangular frame church with Gothic Revival style design elements. The three bay by three bay building has a projecting entrance topped by a one-stage bell tower. The building features pointed arched openings.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Elmwood Park is located in the southwestern portion of Syracuse, New York. The park was originally built and opened as a privately owned park in 1893. It is significant as an example of such parks from the Pleasure Ground Era. After the site was purchased by the city of Syracuse in 1927, bridges, embankments, walls and stairs built of wood and stone were added, making the park also representative of the Reform Park Era. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Strathmore, or Strathmore "By the Park" Subdivision, is a neighborhood in the southwest of Syracuse, New York, United States. It is a mostly residential neighborhood that has many houses from the early and middle of the twentieth century.
