Brant, New York

Brant is a hamlet in the town of Brant in Erie County, New York, United States.

Cattaraugus Reservation is an Indian reservation of the federally recognized Seneca Nation of Indians, formerly part of the Iroquois Confederacy located in New York. As of the 2000 census, the Indian reservation had a total population of 2,412. Its total area is about 34.4 mi² (89.1 km²). The reservation stretches from Lake Erie inward along Cattaraugus Creek, along either side of NY 438. It is divided among three counties for census purposes: Cattaraugus Reservation, Cattaraugus County Cattaraugus Reservation, Chautauqua County Cattaraugus Reservation, Erie County.

US Post Office—Angola is a historic post office building located at Angola in Erie County, New York. It was designed and built 1938–1939, and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, Louis A. Simon. The building is in the Colonial Revival style. The interior features a cast-stone relief sculpture by Leopold Scholz executed in 1940 and titled A Pioneer Woman's Bravery.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Angola is a village in the town of Evans in Erie County, New York, United States. Located 2 miles (3 km) east of Lake Erie, the village is 22 miles (35 km) southwest of downtown Buffalo. As of the 2010 Census, Angola had a population of 2,127. An unincorporated community known as Angola on the Lake, with a population of 1,675, lies between Angola village and Lake Erie.

The Angola Horror train wreck occurred on December 18, 1867, just after 3 p.m. when the last coach of the Buffalo-bound New York Express of the Lake Shore Railway derailed at a bridge in Angola, New York, United States, slid down into a gorge and caught fire, killing approximately 49 people. At the time, it was one of the deadliest train wrecks in American history.

Evans is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 16,356 at the 2010 census. The town derives its name from David E. Evans, an agent of the Holland Land Company and nephew of land agent Joseph Ellicott. The town is approximately 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Buffalo and is a rural community with 12 miles (19 km) of waterfront. The town is located close to the major trading centers of the Northeast and is a bi-national gateway for commerce due to the region's border location with Canada.

Lake Shore High School is a public high school located in Angola, Erie County, New York, United States. It is the only high school operated by the Evans-Brant Central School District (Lake Shore). It serves students in the Town of Evans and Village of Angola, the Town of Brant and a portion of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation. The current principal is Dr. Katy Berner-Wallen, the current assistant principals are Mrs.Julie Schwab, and Mr. Daryl Besant.

Evangola State Park is a 733-acre (2.97 km2) state park in southern Erie County, New York, United States. The park is located west of the Village of Farnham, at the border of the Town of Brant and the Town of Evans. The park, which opened in 1954, fronts on Lake Erie, and has a large swimming beach bordered by cliffs of Angola shale.

Pioneer Cemetery, also known as Evans Center Cemetery, is a historic cemetery located at Evans Center in Erie County, New York. It consists of 10 to 11 rows of burials, with the oldest dating to 1810. The majority of the burials date between 1810 and 1860, with the most recent burial in 1928. Most are marked with simple tablet headstones. It features hilly terrain with a prominent rise at the center of the cemetery.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Farnham is a village in the town of Brant, Erie County, New York, United States. The population of Farnham was 381 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village is named after Leroy Farnham, a local landowner and merchant.Farnham is located in the western part of the town of Brant, north of the Cattaraugus Reservation and southeast of Evangola State Park.

Evans Center is a hamlet in the town of Evans in Erie County, New York, United States. The Pioneer Cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.
