Penn's Neck Township was a township that existed in Salem County, New Jersey, United States, from 1701 until 1721. Penn's Neck Township was first mentioned on May 12, 1701. It had originally existed as West Fenwick Township, which was first mentioned in a deed on August 30, 1676, though the details of its incorporation are unknown.The township was subdivided and dissolved as of July 10, 1721, with the formation of Upper Penns Neck Township (now Carneys Point Township) and Lower Penns Neck Township (now Pennsville Township).

Salem Community College (SCC) is a public community college in Salem County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Salem Community College's main 11-acre (45,000 m2) campus is in Carneys Point Township. SCC is authorized to grant associate degrees, including Associate in Arts, Associate in Fine Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science certificates. SCC also offers the only degree program in the US for scientific glassblowing.Salem Community College was founded as Salem County Technical Institute in 1958. Recognizing the college-level caliber of the institute's programs, the Salem County Board of Chosen Freeholders requested approval to grant degree-awarding authority to the institute. The New Jersey Commission on Higher Education evaluated the institute's programs and granted the requested approval. On September 3, 1972, Salem Community College was established. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Penns Grove High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Carneys Point Township and Penns Grove in Salem County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as part of the Penns Grove-Carneys Point Regional School District. A majority of students in grades 9-12 from Oldmans Township, New Jersey attend the district's high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Oldmans Township School District, with the balance attending Woodstown High School in the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School District. The school is located in Carneys Point Township. Penns Grove High school hosts the regional Academy of Chemical and Technological Engineering program, which prepares students for college majors in engineering fields. The Academy of Chemical and Technological Engineering operates in partnership with Rowan University, Salem Community College, DuPont and various other contributors.As of the 2022–23 school year, the school had an enrollment of 576 students and 48.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.0:1. There were 291 students (50.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 54 (9.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Salem County Career and Technical High School is a four-year vocational public high school located in Pilesgrove Township, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, that serves the vocational education needs of students in ninth through twelfth grades in Salem County, as part of the Salem County Vocational Technical Schools. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.As of the 2022–23 school year, the school had an enrollment of 738 students and 46.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.9:1. There were 146 students (19.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 31 (4.2% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Carneys Point is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Carneys Point Township, in Salem County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 7,382.The first European settlers in the area were a group of Irish immigrants who came in 1727, which included Thomas Carney. After World War I broke out and the E.I. du Pont de Nemours plants in the area expanded, a community was constructed for the employees of the plants and was named after Thomas Carney.

As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 1,910, an increase of 137 (+7.7%) from the 2010 census count of 1,773, which in turn reflected a decline of 25 (−1.4%) from the 1,798 counted in the 2000 census.Oldmans Township was incorporated on February 7, 1881, from portions of Upper Penns Neck Township (now Carneys Point Township). The township's name is a corruption of "Alderman's".It is a dry town, where alcohol cannot be sold legally, though alcohol is available at the winery in the township.

As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 4,183, an increase of 167 (+4.2%) from the 2010 census count of 4,016, which in turn reflected an increase of 93 (+2.4%) from the 3,923 counted in the 2000 census.Pile's Grove was first mentioned in a deed dated April 15, 1701, through the date of the township's original corporation is unknown. Pilesgrove was incorporated as one of New Jersey's original group of 104 townships that were established on February 21, 1798. Portions of the township were taken on December 6, 1769, to form Pittsgrove Township and on July 26, 1882, to create Woodstown. The township was named for Thomas Pyle.In 1979, Pilesgrove Township enacted the state's first right-to-farm law, protecting farming as a "natural right hereby ordained to exist as a permitted use everywhere in the Township of Pilesgrove."
