Utica Zoo is a regional zoo in Utica, New York, situated in a section of Roscoe Conkling Park. It consists of a mixture of outdoor and indoor animal enclosures, a petting zoo, nature trails, and other amenities.The Utica Zoo is primarily funded by the Oneida County government, the New York State Natural Heritage Program, and fundraising by the zoo and private donors. The City of Utica does not financially support the zoo at present, although it still owns the land occupied by the zoo.

It is a highly diverse urban district, having 69% racial minority students and 17% students who are English language learners in 2017. It is part of Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES and the Conference of Big 5 School Districts, a conference of the largest urban school districts in New York State.

The Uptown Theatre is a historic movie theater in Utica, New York. It opened on December 29, 1927, during the silent film and Vaudeville eras, and is the city's oldest surviving theater, predating the Stanley Theater by eight months. It was part of the Kallet chain of movie theaters, like the Capitol Theatre in nearby Rome and other theaters no longer standing throughout Upstate New York.

The First Presbyterian Church is a historic church building in Utica, New York, United States. The church and its related McKinnon House were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The structures are notable for their early twentieth century design and architecture.The church was designed by Boston architect Ralph Adams Cram and built in 1922. The McKinnon House was designed by Binghamton architect C. Edward Vosbury and built in 1899.1961 saw the joining of the Church and the Church House with the construction of a number of classrooms, Fellowship Hall, and a modernized kitchen, and the installation of a Casavant Freres organ.

Donovan Stadium is a stadium in Utica, New York. It is primarily used for baseball and was formerly the home of Utica Blue Sox. The ballpark has a capacity of 4,000 people and opened in 1976. The movement to remodel the field started in 1967 in effort of the Utica Free Academy Student Council spearheaded by then President Steven Oram. Shares of imaginary stock were sold to students and the proceeds given to the City to highlight the need and community interest. Oram a successful Maryland Attorney went on to establish the Give Back to Utica Fund at the Community Foundation of Oneida and Herkimer Counties The newly founded four-team New York State League played all of its games there for the 2007 season. It is the current home of the Utica Blue Sox, originally of the collegiate summer New York Collegiate Baseball League but today of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, and it is also used for American Legion baseball. The stadium was named after James H. Donovan.

The St. Elizabeth College of Nursing (SECON) is a private university located in Utica, NY, United States. The college was a product of the mission and tradition of St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC): with the closing of SEMC in October 2023, SECON is now a part of the Mohawk Valley Health System. Established in 1904 as a single purpose, associate's degree program, St. Elizabeth College of Nursing offers training to would-be qualified Registered Nurses.

On the night of June 28, 2024, Nyah Mway (Karen: [ˈnja mwe]), a thirteen-year-old Southeast Asian American refugee, was shot and killed in Utica, New York, by Patrick Husnay, an officer of the Utica Police Department (UPD). He is thought to be the first Karen person killed in the United States by a police officer. Police shootings of Asian Americans are uncommon compared to other ethnic groups. As of August 2024 the case is under investigation by the attorney general of New York.

The Millar-Wheeler House is a historic home located at 1423 Genesee Street in Utica, Oneida County, New York. It was built in 1866, and consists of a three-story, square, brick main block and two-story, frame rear wing. It features an ornate Italianate style entrance portico topped by an oriel window, a low-pitched hipped roof with broad eaves and belvedere, and scrolled brackets.: 3  It is operated as Rosemont Inn, a bed and breakfast. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Utica Parks and Parkway Historic District is a national historic district located at Utica in Oneida County, New York. It consists of four contributing historic elements: a historic right-of-way known as the Memorial Parkway and the three large parks it connects: Roscoe Conkling Park, F.T. Proctor Park, and T.R. Proctor Park. The district includes seven contributing buildings, three contributing sites, 26 contributing structures, and five contributing objects. The park and parkway system was designed between 1908 and 1914 by the firm of Olmsted Brothers Landscape Associates, headed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. The Utica Zoo is located in Roscoe Conkling Park. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Fountain Elms is a historic home located at Utica in Oneida County, New York. It is part of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. The original block was completed in 1852 in the "Italian Style". It is basically a cube with a center hall plan. The original rear wing was remodeled in 1883 and a third two-story wing added. An additional wing and piazza were added in 1908, resulting in the current irregular plan.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Munson (Formally Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute) is a regional fine arts center founded in 1919 and located in Utica, New York. The institute has three program divisions, museum of art, performing arts and school of art.

Utica Public Library is a historic library building located in Utica in Oneida County, New York. It is a rectangular five story Neoclassical style structure, constructed of New Haven brick on a limestone foundation. It features a central pedimented pavilion with Corinthian order columns. It was designed in 1903 by Arthur C. Jackson of Carrère and Hastings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Originally the Utica Public Library sat at the Broad Street offices of Attorney Justus Rathbone in 1825. In 1842 the library had 1,700 volumes. It then reached 4,000 volumes in 1865. In 1904 more than 25,000 books from Elizabeth Street were transferred to the library. In February 2004, the computer room was opened.
