Milltown, New Jersey

The Milltown India Rubber Company is a historic building located at 40 Washington Avenue in the borough of Milltown in Middlesex County, New Jersey. Construction of the building started in 1899 and was completed in 1900. Designed by architect George Parsell with vernacular Italianate style, it was part of the rubber industry in the county. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 13, 1986 for its significance in architecture and industry.

The Milltown Public Schools are a comprehensive community public school district, serving students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Milltown, in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2014-15 school year, the district and its two schools had an enrollment of 996 students and 56.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.7:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.For ninth through twelfth grades, public school students attend Spotswood High School in Spotswood as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Spotswood Public Schools, which also serves students from Helmetta. In 2013, Milltown and Spotswood had discussions of expanding the partnership between the two districts beyond the sending relationship.

The Raritan River Freight Station is the only surviving station of the Raritan River Railroad and is located in Milltown, New Jersey. It is currently owned by James Curran and has agreed to sell the station to the Raritan River Railroad Historical Society for one dollar if they can find the means of moving it off of his property. For a number of years he has been using the station as a storage room. He has recently stopped this as a result of the stations deteriorating condition.

WRSU (88.7 FM) is a non-commercial college radio station serving the greater Central New Jersey area, broadcasting from the campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. It is a student and faculty-run radio station with Rutgers faculty member Mike Pavlichko serving as its Broadcast Administrator. WRSU broadcasts on FM and streams all of its programming online.

Farrington Lake is a scenic freshwater reservoir in Middlesex County, New Jersey near Milltown, New Jersey. Created by a dam on the Lawrence Brook, a tributary of the Raritan River, the lake is in fact a widened section of the Lawrence Brook. Its main tributaries are the Ireland Brook, the Beaverdam Brook, and the Oakeys Brook. The lake is named after Edward Farrington, mayor of New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1915–1918, who envisioned the construction of the dam to supply water to his city. Mayor Farrington died while in office, in 1918. The lake is bordered by East Brunswick, North Brunswick and South Brunswick. It covers about 1.17 km² (290 acres) and has a mean depth of 2 meters (6 ft) with a maximum depth of 4 meters (12 ft). The lake is accessible from a boat ramp; the only powered boats allowed are those with an electric motor. Fish species in the lake include Chain Pickerel, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Brown Trout, Yellow Perch and Rainbow Trout.

The Technology Centre of New Jersey is a science park in North Brunswick Township, New Jersey, United States, established by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority as a high technology business incubator. It can accommodate individual research and laboratory facilities up to 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2), complete with clean rooms and wet labs.

Saint Bartholomew's School is a private coeducational Catholic school for students in pre-kindergarten to eighth grade in East Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. Founded in 1964 under the guidance of Monsignor J. Morgan Kelly, the school has grow in size to 375 students in the 2020-2021 school year. It is accredited by the Diocesan and Common Core State Standards along with Cognia.

Solomon Schechter Day School of Raritan Valley was a Conservative Jewish day school that served students in kindergarten through eighth grade that was located in East Brunswick, New Jersey, United States, until its closure before the start of the 2013–14 school year. It was affiliated with the Solomon Schechter Day School Association. The school's mission was "To operate a financially sound Jewish Day School that offers a superior general studies program coupled with a rich program in Judaic studies in an environment that thrives on Jewish values", with classes in all grades averaging 18 students.The school is located in the Raritan Valley, which covers Union, Somerset, and Hunterdon counties, as well as the northern portion of Middlesex County. As of the 2009–10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 120 students and 12.9 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 9.3:1.

The county's first court met in June 1683 in Piscataway, and held session at alternating sites over the next century in Perth Amboy, Piscataway, and Woodbridge before relocating permanently to New Brunswick in 1778. Despite its status as a residential, commercial, and industrial stronghold and a centrally accessible transportation hub, Middlesex is also home to an extensive public park system with expansive greenways, totaling more than 6,300 acres (2,500 ha). Middlesex County is most demographically notable as the U.S. county with the highest concentration of Asian Indians, at nearly 20% in 2020, spanning the county's boundaries between Little India, Edison/Iselin in the north and Monroe Township at its southern tip.
