Neckarwestheim Nuclear Power Station is a nuclear power plant in Neckarwestheim, Germany, sometimes abbreviated GKN (for German: Gemeinschaftskraftwerk Neckar), operated by EnBW Kernkraft GmbH, a subsidiary of EnBW. As part of the nuclear power phase-out, it was taken out of service on April 15, 2023. Since the shutdown of the plant, Germany has been dependent on coal and natural gas to generate electricity.
