The Lumberton Township School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade in Lumberton, in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of three schools, had an enrollment of 1,141 students and 96.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.For ninth through twelfth grades, public school students attend the Rancocas Valley Regional High School, a comprehensive regional public high school serving students from five communities encompassing approximately 40 square miles (100 km2) comprising the communities of Eastampton Township, Hainesport Township, Lumberton Township, Mount Holly Township and Westampton Township. As of the 2021–22 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 2,048 students and 140.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.6:1. Little Creek is a 12.58 mile long river in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. It drains into the Southwest Branch Rancocas Creek. Little Creek itself drains an area of 6.32 square miles. Little Creek has been found to be impaired for primary recreation, but safe and suitable for aquatic life. Little Creek drains mostly a suburban/rural area, and has been classified as a low-gradient stream.

Eayrestown is an unincorporated community located within Lumberton Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The settlement is named for Richard and Elizabeth Eayres, the first settlers of the site in the 1600s. It was also the first settlement in what is now Lumberton Township. The settlement, located along the South Branch Rancocas Creek, was the site of numerous saw and gristmills early in its history and a picnic grove that attracted people from around the area. Today, numerous farms and housing developments dot the area.

The South Branch Rancocas Creek drains an area of 144 square miles. Much of the upland agriculture within the Rancocas Creek basin lies inside the South Branch Rancocas Creek basin. It is also among the least developed parts of the Rancocas Creek watershed.

Fostertown is an unincorporated community located within Lumberton Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The site was founded in 1735 by William Foster, who established a plantation on modern-day West Bella Bridge Road. The area is largely farmland with some houses and a high-voltage power line dotting the landscape.

On 8 September 2017, a Schweizer 269C helicopter crashed after an uncontrolled descent during a power-off landing attempt at the Flying W Airport in Medford, New Jersey, United States. The aircraft had experienced engine trouble during a local sightseeing flight for the benefit of passenger Troy Gentry, founder and member of the popular American country music band Montgomery Gentry, which was scheduled to perform at a resort at the airport later that day. The pilot died at the scene; Gentry was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

The Shinn Curtis Log House lies in the heart of a historic section of Mount Holly, New Jersey, United States. The early settler's home of hand-hewn logs originally built in 1712 was encased in a house and was uncovered in 1967 when the surrounding house was demolished. It was in the possession of the Curtis family for 147 years, since 1802, and is now owned by the Mount Holly Historical Society. The building was relocated from what had been Water Street and renamed Rancocas Road.

The Jonathan Haines House, also known as Friendship Farm, is located on Fostertown Road, north of Church Road, in the township of Medford in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The oldest section of the house was built around 1690 by John Haines. The historic Quaker farmhouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 16, 1976, for its significance in agriculture and architecture. The house was first expanded in 1720 by Jonathan Haines with a two-story frame wing. Joseph Haines expanded it in 1808. A two-story brick wing was added around 1850. The house was in the Haines family until 1919. The family also built Kirby's Mill, originally known as Haines' Mill, on the Southwest Branch Rancocas Creek.
