Newton, New Hampshire

Newton Junction is an unincorporated community in the town of Newton in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. It is located in the western portion of Newton, between the main portion of Newton (to the east) and South Kingston (to the west). Amtrak's Downeaster railroad line passes through the village, but does not have a stop. The nearest Downeaster stations are Haverhill, Massachusetts, to the south, and Exeter, New Hampshire, to the north. The West Amesbury Branch Railroad once led southeast from Newton Junction to Merrimac, Massachusetts. Although it is not a town, "Newton Junction" is a valid address used for the 03859 ZIP code in Newton (post office boxes only).

The Captain Jonathan Currier House is a historic house on Hillside Avenue in South Hampton, New Hampshire. Built about 1742, it is the oldest surviving house in Currierville, one of the early settlement areas in South Hampton. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Country Pond is a 306-acre (124 ha) water body located in Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Kingston and Newton. Water from Country Pond flows via the Powwow River to the Merrimack River in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery, with observed species including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, black crappie, white perch, American eel, bluegill, white sucker, and pumpkinseed.

Tuxbury Pond is a lake which straddles the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border, abutting the towns of Amesbury, Massachusetts and South Hampton, New Hampshire. It is located along the Powwow River. It has two islands in the middle, and a large summer camp resort lies along the Massachusetts shore.

Powwow Pond is a 348-acre (1.41 km2) water body in Rockingham County in southeastern New Hampshire, United States. It is classified as an artificial impoundment. The outlet of the pond is located in the town of East Kingston, but most of the lake lies in the town of Kingston. The Powwow River, the outlet of the pond, flows to the Merrimack River in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery, with observed species including smallmouth and largemouth bass, chain pickerel, horned pout, and black crappie.

The Smith's Corner Historic District is a historic district encompassing a historic 19th-century rural village center. Covering about 105.5 acres (42.7 ha), the district is centered on the junction of Main Avenue (New Hampshire Route 107A), South Road, and Chase Road in northwestern South Hampton, abutting its border with East Kingston. The village was important as a stagecoach stop. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Merrimac Square is located in the center of the town of Merrimac, Massachusetts. It is the commercial, cultural and historical center of the town. The main events of the town, including the Merrimac Santa Parade and Merrimac Old Home Days, are held in the square. The Square joins East and West Main Streets, as well as Church Street and School Street. There was previously only a concrete island in the center of the roadway, with a flagpole at the center. The two banks, one of them in a building dating back to the 1800s, are located at the entrance to West Main Street. The police and fire station are located near the entrance to East Main Street. In mid-2015, the town square was renovated, changing the open roadway of the square into a small rotary, as well as implementing a new water main and sidewalks compliant with the ADA.

Merrimac is a small town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States, and on the southeastern border of New Hampshire, approximately 34 miles (55 km) northeast of Boston and 10 miles (16 km) west of the Atlantic Ocean. It was incorporated on April 11, 1876. It is situated along the north bank of the Merrimack River in the Merrimack Valley. The population was 6,723 at the 2020 census. Historically a mill town, it has long since become a largely residential community. It is part of the Greater Boston metropolitan area.

Sanborn Regional High School is located in Kingston, New Hampshire and serves the towns of Kingston, Newton, and Fremont. SRHS is a part of the Sanborn Regional School District. The school has a current population of approximately 750 students.

Merrimacport is an unincorporated village and the oldest section of the town of Merrimac, Massachusetts, located along the Merrimack River. Settled in 1638, it began as a fishing village and was long a part of the section of Amesbury, Massachusetts known as West Amesbury. During the Industrial Revolution, a nearby village developed around the newly formed Merrimac square. In 1876, West Amesbury, including Merrimacport (aka: South Amesbury), split from Amesbury, incorporating itself as the town of Merrimac. Merrimacport is divided from the rest of Merrimac by Interstate 495. It goes from the Southern Border of Amesbury to Locust Street.
