Tilton, New Hampshire

The Tilton Downtown Historic District encompasses a roughly one-block section of Main Street (United States Route 3) in the center of Tilton, New Hampshire. It extends from Central Street in the west to Bridge and School Streets in the east, including all of the buildings on the north side of this section, and a cluster of buildings on the south side near Bridge Street. The area has long been a commercial and industrial center for the town, although most of the buildings now date from the late 19th century onward, and include a fine array of Victorian architecture. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Tilton School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school in Tilton, New Hampshire, serving students from 9th to 12th grade and postgraduate students. Founded in 1845, Tilton's student body in the 2021-22 academic year consisted of 61 day students and 129 boarding students. The typical student enrollment includes representation from 15-20 states and 10-15 countries.

The Charles E. Tilton Mansion, now the Lucian Hunt Library, stands on the campus of the Tilton School in Tilton, New Hampshire, United States. Built in the 1860s and enlarged several times in the 19th century, it is one of the state's most architecturally eclectic houses. It was built by banker and philanthropist Charles E. Tilton, for whose family the town is named. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was acquired by the Tilton School in 1962 and adapted for use as its library, which is named for Lucius Hunt, a teacher of Classics at the school.

The Tilton Island Park Bridge is a foot bridge in Tilton, New Hampshire. It spans a portion of the Winnipesaukee River just east of downtown Tilton, providing access to Tilton Island Park, located on an island in the river. Built in 1881, it is a rare surviving example of a bridge with cast iron components, designed by a distinctive patent issued in 1858 to Lucius Truesdell. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Tilton Northfield is a census-designated place (CDP) representing two adjacent villages in the towns of Tilton in Belknap County and Northfield in Merrimack County in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The CDP encompasses the town centers of both Tilton and Northfield, located on either side of the Winnipesaukee River. The population was 3,324 at the 2020 census.

The Memorial Arch of Tilton, sometimes referred to as Tilton's Folly, or simply the Tilton Arch is a historic arch on Elm Street in Northfield, New Hampshire, United States, on a hill overlooking the town of Tilton. The 55-foot-tall arch (17 m) was built by Charles E. Tilton in 1882; it was modeled after the Arch of Titus in Rome, its surfaces, however, modeled in the rustication that was currently a fashionable feature of Romanesque revival building. The Memorial Arch of Tilton was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Hall Memorial Library is the public library of Tilton and Northfield, New Hampshire. It is located at 18 Park Street in Northfield, in an 1887 Richardsonian Romanesque building. The building, one of the most architecturally distinguished in the region, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The House by the Side of the Road is a historic house at 61 School Street in Tilton, New Hampshire. The house, built c. 1783, is a modest 1+1⁄2-story Cape style house that is five bays wide, with a center entry and a central chimney. The house is locally notable as the home of poet Sam Walter Foss in 1877–78, when he was attending Tilton Seminary, and has been known as the "House by the Side of Road" after Foss's poem of the same name, since the 1890s. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Northfield is a town in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 4,872 at the 2020 census.

Winnisquam Regional High School is a public high school located in Tilton, New Hampshire, in the United States. They are commonly known as the Bears, which is their school mascot. Students of the school are primarily from the towns of Sanbornton, Tilton, and Northfield, though some other towns are represented. The school is commonly referred to by its abbreviation, "WRHS". Recently the school's New Hampshire State Test scores have been steadily rising, and the school district has made strides to boost the WRHS curriculum, most notably by increasing the AP course selection. In 2001, funds in the amount of $17 million were approved by the tri-town area in an effort to completely renovate the school as well as construct a new gymnasium and additional classroom space. During the renovation, the much beloved Star Wars mural that had covered the main wall of the old cafeteria had to be dismantled. Winnisquam Regional High School operates a school of agricultural science in a separate building on its main campus. This "Ag Center" allows Winnisquam students, as well as students from nearby towns, to take vocational classes in agriculture, animal science, horticulture, and forestry for high school credit. The center maintains a greenhouse which grows a wide variety of flowers and plants.

WFTN-FM (Mix 94.1 FM) is a radio station based in central New Hampshire which airs a CHR music format. Broadcasting with 6,000 watts from Calef Hill in Tilton, the station's signal is perfectly situated to cover Central New Hampshire, including the cities of Laconia, Concord, and Franklin and nearby communities. Mix 94.1 FM is the heritage CHR in both the Lake Winnipesaukee Region and Concord areas, being one of the few stations in New Hampshire staffed with live and local air personalities during the day. The station is owned by Northeast Communications, a local broadcasting company owned by Jeff Fisher. Sister stations to WFTN-FM are WFTN (AM), WPNH AM–FM, and WSCY. WFTN-FM signed on the air in 1987 as an adult contemporary station, "94 FM". Over the years, the station evolved into a CHR station. Longtime Mix 94.1 air personalities include Fred Caruso and news director Amy Bates, Tara Madison, "Mower", Pat Kelly, and weekends with Gary Ford and Gavin Martin. Mix 94.1 FM is the local affiliate for Liveline with Mason Kelter on weeknights and Open House Party which they have carried on weekends since 1990. The station streams its signal over the internet, as of December 2022.

The Tioga River is a 12.8-mile-long (20.6 km) river located in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Winnipesaukee River, part of the Merrimack River watershed. The Tioga River rises on the western slopes of the Belknap Mountains in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Flowing west, the river quickly enters the town of Belmont, where it spends most of its existence. The river passes through Badger Pond shortly before reaching the village proper of Belmont, which was sited along the Tioga River in the 19th century for its waterpower. The river continues west, reaching a broad wetland along the Belmont-Northfield town line, and ends at the Winnipesaukee River near the outlet of Silver Lake. New Hampshire Route 140 follows the general course of the river from Belmont village to the Winnipesaukee.
