The Belgian Quarter (German: Belgisches Viertel, German pronunciation: [ˈbɛlɡɪʃəs ˌfɪʁtl̩], Colognian pronunciation: [ət ˌbɛl²jeʃə ˈfe²dəl]) is an inner city district of Cologne, Germany. The name is derived from street names in the vicinity, referring to Belgian provinces or cities. In the northern part of the Quarter, street names such as Goebenstraße, Werderstraße, Moltkestraße and Spichernstraße celebrate the leaders and victories of Prussia in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870–1871 which brought down the Second French Empire and led to the creation of a new German Empire.At the heart of the Belgian Quarter is the Brüsseler Platz, or Brussels Square, dominated by the neo-Romanesque St Michael's Church, built between 1902 and 1906. On warm summer nights the square can fill with hundreds of young people having fun, keeping residents from their sleep.With a wide variety of cuisine, this Veedel (the local language term for quarter) of Cologne is now considered fashionable, and in the July 2010 issue of the lifestyle magazine Prinz it was named as the part of the city most worth living in. The publication's web site continues to praise it as an "upmarket residential district and meeting place for the creative arts". The TV show NightWash was set in a laundrette in the district for years.

Köln West (Cologne West) station is located in the northwestern edge of the Innenstadt of Cologne in the district of Neustadt-Nord in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located on Venloer Straße (street). The station is a stop for regional services on the Cologne ring railway (part of the West Rhine Railway). It is also served by lines 3, 4 and 5 lines of the Cologne Stadtbahn, which run through the Hans-Böckler-Platz/Bf. West underground station. The surface station has two platform tracks on a 303-metre-long island platform and eight tracks without platforms, which are used by intensive freight traffic.

The ifs internationale filmschule köln gmbh (international film school cologne) is a privately funded film school in Cologne, Northrhine-Westphalia, Germany. The film school was founded by Filmstiftung NRW. In the German film school ranking of Focus (issue 22/2006), the international filmschool cologne—together with the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and the dffb—were ranked as second after the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. Evaluation criteria were the reputation of the university, the support for the students, the technical equipment and the number of awards won.

The Volkstheater Millowitsch, also known as the Millowitsch-Theater, was a medium-sized theatre in Cologne, Germany where popular, low-brow comedies were performed.

Rudolfplatz is an interchange station and hub on the Cologne Stadtbahn lines 1, 7, 12 and 15 in the Cologne district of Innenstadt. The station is located at Rudolfplatz, a major junction between the Cologne Ring and Aachener Straße. It opened in 1987 and is divided into an overground part for lines 1 and 7 and an underground part for lines 12 and 15.

Friesenplatz is an underground station and hub on the Cologne Stadtbahn lines 3, 4, 5, 12 and 15 in Cologne. The station lies on the Cologne Ring, corner Friesenplatz in the district of Innenstadt. The station was opened in 1985 and consists of a mezzanine and two platform levels with four side platforms and four rail tracks.

Colonius is the Cologne telecommunications tower, which was finished in 1981. The Colonius possesses a cafeteria, viewing platform, and a restaurant, apart from antennas for radio relay and radio services within the VHF range. Because of a missing leaseholder, the visitor's area including restaurant and viewing platform has been closed since 1992. At the time of its completion the Colonius was 252.9 meters high. In 2004 a radio tower added by helicopter increased the height to 266 meters. This addition allowed the broadcast of digital television (DVB-T) from the tower in the Cologne/Bonn region.

Roonstrasse Synagogue, located in Cologne, Germany, is the only surviving of the five synagogues of the city before the Nazi era.

The Cologne Central Mosque (German: Zentralmoschee Köln, Turkish: Köln Merkez-Camii) is a mosque located in the Ehrenfeld neighbourhood of the city of Cologne, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Commissioned by the German branch of the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (known as Diyanet İşleri Türk İslam Birliği, and abbreviated as DİTİB), the large, representative central mosque (zentralmoschee) was completed in 2017 and inaugurated by Turkish President Erdogan. As the largest mosque in Germany with the capacity to accommodate up to 4,000 worshippers, prior to its construction, there was some local opposition to the project. Inspired by the Neo-Ottoman architecture, the mosque was designed in a German Postmodern style with glass walls, two minarets and a dome. The mosque has a bazaar as well as other secular areas intended for interfaith interactions. The mosque is one of Europe's biggest mosques, and the largest mosque in Germany, and it has been criticized by some, particularly the height of the minarets.

Sartory-Saal is a concert hall located in Innenstadt, Cologne, Germany. It has a capacity of 1,400 people. Notable past performers include Weather Report, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Queen, AC/DC and Judas Priest.

Christophstraße/Mediapark station is an underground Cologne Stadtbahn station in the MediaPark neighborhood, in Cologne, Germany. The station is located on the Cologne Ring.

Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln (RFH) is a private, state-recognized university of applied sciences located in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was officially established in 1971 and continues the tradition of the Rheinische Ingenieurschule für Bau- und Maschinenbauwesen, which was founded in 1958. The institution offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in areas such as engineering, business administration, law, social sciences, and health. RFH is organized under private sponsorship and is subject to state supervision according to the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia. The university maintains several campuses in Cologne and has a student population of approximately 5,700.
