Austintown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place within Austintown Township, Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 29,594 at the 2020 census. Located directly west of Youngstown, it is a suburb of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area.

Austintown Fitch High School is a public high school in Austintown, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Austintown Local School District. Athletic teams compete as the Austintown Fitch Falcons in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the All-American Conference. The original structure was located at 5680 Mahoning Ave. Classes moved to the new high school in 1968. The original structure has been demolished.

Mill Creek Park (officially known as Mill Creek MetroParks) is a metropolitan park located in Youngstown, Ohio. It stretches from the near west side of Youngstown to the southern borders of the city and neighboring Boardman, Ohio. The park "encompasses approximately 4400 acres (10.5 km²), 20 mi (32 km) of drives, and 15 mi (24 km) of foot trails" as well as a variety of bridges, ponds, streams, well-tended gardens, and waterfalls. The Trust for Public Land ranks one part of Mill Creek as the 142nd largest park located within the limits of a U.S. city.

The Mill Creek Park Suspension Bridge is a bridge in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. The 1895 bridge carries Valley Drive across Mill Creek to connect the east and west sides of Mill Creek Park. Following the wishes of Volney Rogers to create fanciful park entrances, Charles Fowler of the Youngstown Bridge Co. designed the structure. The Suspension Bridge is the oldest of six bridges in Mill Creek Park. It measures 86 feet long and 32 feet wide and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It has been called the Silver Bridge, the Cinderella Bridge, the Castle Bridge, and the Walt Disney Bridge. In the summer and fall of 2007, the Suspension Bridge went through a major rehabilitation project to repair the historic structure, restore its visual prominence and improve its structural integrity. The project was coordinated through consultation with the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Youngstown State University, the Ohio Historic Preservation Office and additional agencies. A Federal Highway Administration Enhancement Grant, secured through the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, covered 80% of the total project cost. The bridge has been restored to its original splendor, reflecting its history, legacy, aesthetic appeal, cultural prominence and regional character.

A suburb about 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Youngstown, the city lies at the intersection of U.S. Routes 62 and 224 and is part of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. In 2005, Canfield was rated the 82nd best place to live in the United States by Money magazine.

Chaney High School is a public high school in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It is one of four secondary schools in the Youngstown City School District. Athletic teams compete as the Chaney Cowboys and Cowgirls in the Ohio High School Athletic Association. In 2011, Chaney High School was closed into a vocal Performing Arts school as well as a STEM fields school as part of a restructure by the school district. However, in 2017, it was announced by Youngstown City School District CEO Krish Mohip that Chaney High School would return to a traditional structure as part of the entire district being reconfigured into neighborhood schooling.

Idora Park (1899–1984) was an amusement park in Youngstown, Ohio, United States, also known as "Youngstown's Million Dollar Playground." Built by the Youngstown Park and Falls Street Railway Company, the park's expansion coincided with the growth of the South Side of Youngstown, Ohio, in the Fosterville neighborhood. Prior to its closure in the wake of a devastating fire, Idora Park was one of the nation's few remaining urban amusement parks.

Mahoning County is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 228,614. Its county seat and largest city is Youngstown. The county is named after the Mahoning River and was formed on March 1, 1846; the 83rd county in Ohio. Until 1846, the area that is now Mahoning County was part of Trumbull and Columbiana counties, when the counties in the area were redefined and Mahoning County emerged as a new county. Mahoning County is part of the Youngstown–Warren, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Calvary Cemetery is located at 248 Belle Vista Avenue on the west side of Youngstown, Ohio. The cemetery is maintained by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. The cemetery is one of the four cemeteries the Diocese oversees in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Stark counties. Stretching over 150 acres (0.61 km2), Calvary is one of the largest and oldest cemeteries in the tri-county area. The cemetery was established in 1885. Over the next few decades, most of the burials in two cemeteries, The Old Catholic Cemetery known as Rose Hill and The German Catholic Cemetery known as St. Joseph's Church Cemetery, were removed to Calvary Cemetery. This means Calvary has burials of people who died prior to its establishment in 1885.
