It is one of the most ancient hindu temple in Kerala. It is one of the protected monuments in Kerala under Kerala State Department of Archaeology.

St. Mary's Cathedral, popularly known as Kuruppampady Pally is situated at Kuruppampady, 4 km east of Perumbavoor in the Kunnathunadu Taluk of Ernakulam district. The Kuruppampady cathedral is one among the older churches of the Malankara Church in the Ernakulam district, Kerala. The church was established around 1300 AD by a group of Christian families who were members of the Kanjoor church residing at Kuruppampady.

Pulluvazhi is a small village in Rayamangalam Grama punchyathu in the Ernakulam district of Kerala state, India. It is close to the towns Perumbavoor, Muvattupuzha and Kothamangalam. Pulluvazhi is the birthplace of many people representatives in the Kerala legislature. K.G .Rohithakshan Kartha (KGR Kartha), represented Seventh Kerala Legislative Assembly as Minister for Health; Communist Party veteran and former Chief Editor of Deshabhimani, P. Govinda Pillai, well known educationalist Rev K.C. Paily were born in Pulluvazhy. Padayatt Kesavapillai Vasudevan Nair (PKV), the 9th Chief Minister of Kerala also had firm connections in this village and his memorial service had performed here. Famous Nangelil Ayurvedic Marmma Therapy Doctors are from Pulluvazhi. Sister Rani Maria Vattalil, also known as Indore Rani was also born in this village. Sister Rani Maria was murdered in a knife attack by a hitman named Samandar Singh at Nachanbore Hill in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on 25 February 1995. The murder was arranged because some landlords were offended by her work among the landless poor. Later on, her family forgave her murderer. The documentary The Heart of a Murderer, depicting the murder and subsequent repentance of Samandar Singh was the winner at the World Interfaith Harmony Film Festival 2013. The writer and social critique M.P. Narayana Pillai, P.R. Sivan, former MLA and renowned drama director Kalady Gopi were also from Pulluvazhy. Above all, Pulluvazhi is renowned for its unity against Hartal, a common strike practice in India by restraining public to work, to travel, to shop etc. Pulluvazhy gave mere importance to this strike and never supported any kind of such strike. The entire village is very much alive in a Harthal Day, and is a solace to most of the travelers as the village is besides Airport-Kottayam MC Road. The only two occasions when the village had downed shutters were when Communist leaders P. Govinda Pillai, P K V and P.R. Sivan died. Stamba Boys Arts and Sports Club, a well-known club in Kerala, is located at Pulluvazhi. Currently, the village is famous for timber business.

Panekavu Bhagavati Shastha Temple is a temple in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam District, Kerala. The place where the temple stands has been considered holy, as this place was the hot spot for performing all rituals and poojas under the able management of a single person by the name "Chakyar". Over time, the sacred land was inherited by family members, generations after generations, but eventually had to be sold to an industrial company. However, it was said that Devi had already decided upon the fate of the holy land, and the land was then bought by a devotee named Sri. Sunil Dath with the intention of preserving the rich devotional and cultural heritage of the sacred land. Under the able guidance of a renowned astrologer, Sri. Gopalakrishna Varrier, Sri. Dath built separate shrines of Bhagvathy (known as Vana Durga), Sasthavu (Lord Ayyapan), and Bhadra Kali, along with Sarppathara and Rakshasa. The major factor which was strictly kept in mind while building the temple was the Vastu-Shastra principles. Today, Sri. Sunil Dath has succeeded in retaining the sacredness of the land with the same effervescence as it was during the time of its ancestors. The "Punaprathista" (process of setting up of the shrines at their respective places) was done by Tantri Kashankottu Manakkal Brahma Sri Damodaran Namboodiripaadu and Narayanan Namboodiri Padu. Since then, poojas are being done on a regular basis during the first Friday and Saturday of every English month. The beauty of the Temple's location is enhanced by the presence of a natural stream flowing by the side of the main temple. The stream has been dedicated to Lord Ayyapan, as the green stream resembles the Pamba River in Sabarimala, which is considered to be the abode of Lord Ayyapan. By the blessings of the Lord, the stream flows all throughout the year.

The name Valayanchirangara means "Valanja Chirayude Kara", a land on the shore of a curve shaped pond. The nearest railway station is Aluva (18 km) and airport is Cochin International airport at Nedumbassery (21 km). It comes under Chalakudy lok sabha constituency & Kunnathunadu assembly constituency. Barnabas, the American head of the Malankara Orthodox Church, died here. It is known as the famous pilgrimage center of the Orthodox Church.

The organization has Educational Institutions, Orphanages and an Arch Diocese affiliated with Syriac Orthodox Church across South India. It was founded as the first missionary association of Syriac Orthodox Church in 1924 by 'Malphono Nasiho' Geevarghese Cor-Episcopa Athunkal(1902-1997) and later registered in 1949 under Indian Societies Registration Act. XXI of 1860. The E.A.E Arch Diocese is under the direct control of Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch օf the Syriac Orthodox Church․
