Rockaway Beach is a city in Taney County, Missouri, United States. The population was 829 at the 2020 census. It lies on the shoreline of the White River. Rockaway Beach is part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The station is currently owned by Mike Huckabee, through licensee Ozark Mountain Media Group, LLC. KRZK was originally owned by Turtle Broadcasting Company of Branson, a subsidiary of Orr & Earls Broadcasting, Inc. It was purchased in 1986 along with KRZK-FM which were off the air at the time. Co-principal, Roderick Orr, sold his interest in the company to Charles Earles in 2004. Earls Broadcasting sold the station to Ozark Mountain Media Group effective December 10, 2018.

Lake Taneycomo is a man-made lake or reservoir on the White River in the Ozark Mountains of Taney County, Missouri. The reservoir's name is a portmanteau for the county and state in which it is located: Taney County, MO. Lake Taneycomo originated when the White River was confined by the completion of the Powersite Dam, near Forsyth, Missouri, in 1913. From 1913 until 1958 it was a warm water lake. In the 1920s and 1930s, tourists began to be drawn to the lake and its nearby communities, Branson and Rockaway Beach. Water skiing, boating, fishing, sunning and swimming drew folks to the warm waters of Lake Taneycomo. Restaurants, lodging and amusement attractions such as bumper cars and skee ball were plentiful in the towns along the lake.The completion of Table Rock Dam in 1958 changed the source of water to Taneycomo from that of the White River's flowing waters to the bottom tailwater of Table Rock Lake from the dam spillway and made it into a cold water lake. The clear cold waters from the deep tailwaters of Table Rock Lake pour out of the dam into Lake Taneycomo. The cold water made swimming and water sports undesirable. Tourism declined sharply in Rockaway Beach and started shifting to Branson and Table Rock Lake.Although tourism declined, fishermen found that the chilly water of Lake Taneycomo made it one of the top trout fishing lakes in the country. In 1957, the Missouri Department of Conservation constructed the Shepherd of the Hills Trout Hatchery. All methods of trout fishing — fly fishing, artificial bait, and live bait fishing — may be used year-round to pursue trout that inhabit the waters of Lake Taneycomo. Lake Taneycomo has the characteristics of both a river and a lake. The shallow colder water, located near the Table Rock Dam, averages 48 °F (9 °C), resembles a river and permits wading and bank fishing for trout. The average temperature of the water gets warmer and the depth of the lake deepens to more than 50 feet (15 m) near the Powersite Dam in Forsyth. When Table Rock Dam is generating power its current is very strong throughout its whole length, its water temperature drops, and for all practical purposes it becomes a very deep, cold, fast running river. Exactly how deep, cold, and fast depends on how many generators are being used to generate electricity at Table Rock Dam.Lake Taneycomo offers a variety of recreational activities including hiking, sightseeing, hunting, fishing, swimming, boating, and water skiing. People accessing Lake Taneycomo are able to visit area restaurants, accommodations, shopping, and shows in the Branson area.

The town sits at the confluence of Bull and Bear Creeks. Walnut Shade is part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area. The ZIP Code for Walnut Shade is 65771.A post office called Walnut Shade has been in operation since 1860. The community once had Walnut Shade Schoolhouse, now defunct. The name "Walnut Shade" is commendatory.Bonniebrook Homestead was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Gettman Hollow is a valley in Taney County in the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri. Gettman Hollow is a tributary to Bull Creek. The head of the valley is located at 36°45′57″N 93°08′06″W and its confluence is at 36°44′57″N 93°10′16″W. The stream begins as a mountainside spring. The stream flows to the southwest and joins Bull Creek about 1.5 miles northeast of Walnut Shade.The name was sometimes spelled "Getman Hollow". The valley has the name of the local Getman family.

Bear Creek is a stream in Christian and Taney counties in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. It is a tributary of Bull Creek.The stream headwaters are at 36°51′01″N 93°19′42″W and the confluence with Bull Creek is at 36°43′49″N 93°11′47″W at an elevation of 735 ft (224 m). The source area for the stream is in the southwest corner of Christian County adjacent to U.S. Route 160 about two miles southwest of Spokane. The stream flows south and southeast and flows under U.S. Route 65 along Bear Creek Road. It crosses under US 160 and enters Bull Creek just southwest of Walnut Shade.

Ozark Beach is an unincorporated community in Taney County, in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. The site is on the shoreline of Lake Taneycomo, approximately one mile west (upstream) of Powersite Dam.

Swan Creek is a stream in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. It is a tributary of the White River downstream from the Lake Taneycomo dam.The stream headwaters are at coordinates: 37°01′01″N 92°48′55″W in northwest Douglas County just southwest of the intersection of Missouri Route 14 and Missouri Route AK at an elevation of about 1640 feet. The stream flows generally west passing Ongo and Honey Branch Cave before leaving Douglas County. After entering Christian County just southwest of Ongo, the stream flows southwest past Keltner and then turns south a short distance east of Chadwick. The stream flows south and is bridged by Missouri Route 125 just east of Garrison. The stream flows southwest and is bridged by Missouri Route AA just southeast of the community of Swan. The stream continues to the south-southwest through incised meanders until reaching its confluence with the White River just east of Forsyth at Shadow Rock Park at coordinates: 36°40′57″N 93°06′20″W.

Powersite Dam is a hydroelectric dam that went into service in 1913 in Forsyth, Missouri. It is found along the White River, and the reservoir it forms is Lake Taneycomo. It was the first hydroelectric dam built in Missouri. Designed in 1911 by Nils F. Ambursen as the largest concrete buttress dam of its kind, the dam is still privately owned by the Empire District Electric Company. Originally constructed to provide 4 megawatts of 25 hertz power, it has since been upgraded to provide 16 megawatts of 60 hertz power. Sixty hertz is now the standard frequency of electric power in North America, though the old 25 hertz power distribution was more efficient, having less losses.
