Big Chief Restaurant, located at 17352 Manchester Road in Wildwood, Missouri, currently operates under the name Big Chief Roadhouse. It was also formerly known as Big Chief Highway Hotel and Big Chief Dakota Grill. The restaurant opened in 1928 as part of a tourist camp that included overnight accommodations for travelers on the newly opened U.S. Route 66 in Pond, Missouri, now incorporated within Wildwood. After the highway was later routed to bypass Pond, the business struggled to survive, operating as housing for government employees during World War II. Eventually the cabins were demolished, and the restaurant was used for other business operations. It was reopened as a restaurant in the 1990s.

Pond was an unincorporated community in western St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. It was located on Old Manchester Road (part of the original alignment of U.S. Route 66), but has now been wholly incorporated into Wildwood. Pond was home to the Big Chief Hotel, now a historic landmark.

Rockwoods Reservation is a 1,843 acres (746 ha) state forest and wildlife conservation area in St. Louis County, Missouri. It was established in 1938, making it one of the oldest Missouri Department of Conservation areas. Being located close to a major urban area and in a rapidly developing suburban area increases its significance as a nature reserve. Rockwoods supports a diverse array of native plant and animal life and contains geologically interesting rock formations and ecologically important springs and caves. Rockwoods Reservation is not a pristine wilderness untouched by human hands, however; remnants of extensive former limestone, clay and gravel quarrying operations are hidden in the dense second growth hardwood forest. Most of the original forest was clearcut to feed lime kilns. Rockwoods Reservation adjoins St. Louis County's 1,724 acres (698 ha) Greensfelder County Park to the south, which itself abuts the state's 1,388 acres (562 ha) Rockwoods Range Conservation Area. Taken together, these three parcels constitute a contiguous green belt of almost 5,000 acres (2,000 ha). The 14.5-mile (23.3 km) Greenrock Trail is a hiking trail that crosses all three areas with one terminus in Rockwoods Reservation. There are six trails in Rockwoods Reservation: Wildlife Habitat Discovery Trail 0.1 miles (0.16 km) Rock Quarry Trail - 2.2 miles (3.5 km) Trail Among the Trees - 1.5 miles (2.4 km) Lime Kiln Trail - 3.2 miles (5.1 km) Green Rock Trail - 3.6 miles (5.8 km) of the trail's 14.5 miles (23.3 km) Turkey Ridge Trail - 2 miles (3.2 km)

St. Louis Community College–Wildwood (also known as STLCC-Wildwood, or Wildwood for short) is the newest campus in the STLCC system. The campus is located in Wildwood, Missouri, a western suburb of St. Louis, Missouri in an area known as west St. Louis County.

Lafayette High School, located in Wildwood, Missouri, is a secondary school in the Rockwood School District. Lafayette High School opened September 7, 1960, in one small building in Ellisville. To handle the growing student body, the school moved in 1989 to Wildwood. The old school site became Crestview Middle School. Lafayette's colors are black and white, often accented with gold.

Greensfelder County Park consists of 1,734 acres (7.02 km2) in western St. Louis County, Missouri. It is located in the city of Wildwood and bordered to the south by the Eureka and Six Flags St. Louis. Greensfelder is part of the Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor. The park's land was donated to St. Louis County in 1963 by the trustees of the St. Louis Regional Planning and Construction Foundation, which had been established in 1939 by Albert P. Greensfelder. The park was originally named Rockwood Park, but was renamed in 1965 in honor of A.P. Greensfelder.The park has a nature center, playgrounds pavilions, scenic loop road, stables, a campsite, and eight trails open to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The park's trails connect to the Rockwoods Reservation to the northeast and the Rockwoods Range Conservation Area to the west, forming a network of 25 miles (40 km) of trails.

Hidden Valley Ski Area is a ski resort in the St. Louis, Missouri suburb of Wildwood, Missouri. The ski area consists of 15 trails on 65 acres (26 ha) of two different peaks to form a 320 ft vertical drop. All of these trails feature Snowmaking, with a capacity of 6600 gallons of water per minute.

Babler State Park (formally, Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park) is a state-managed public recreation area located in the northwest section of the city of Wildwood, Missouri. A large bronze statue of Dr. Babler greets park visitors. The state park's 2,441 acres (988 ha) offer opportunities for hiking, picnicking, bicycling, horseback riding, and camping. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Glencoe was an unincorporated community in western St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. It is located on the west side of the Meramec River, north of Eureka in the southern part of Wildwood and is just off Route 109.

Hamilton Creek is a stream in St. Louis County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Meramec River. Hamilton Creek has the name of Ninan Hamilton, a cattleman.
