Ozark Air Lines Flight 809 was a regularly scheduled flight from Nashville, Tennessee, to St. Louis, Missouri, with four intermediate stops. On July 23, 1973, while landing at St. Louis International Airport, it crashed, killing 38 of the 44 persons aboard. A severe downdraft, associated with a nearby thunderstorm, was cited as the cause.

McCluer South-Berkeley High School is a grade 9-12 secondary school located at 201 Brotherton Lane in the city of Ferguson, Missouri. a suburb of St. Louis. Located in the Ferguson-Florissant School District (FFSD), McCluer South Berkeley is the newest secondary school.

Missouri's 1st congressional district is in the eastern portion of the state. It includes all of St. Louis City and much of northern St. Louis County, including the cities of Maryland Heights, University City, Ferguson and Florissant. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of D+27, it is the most Democratic district in Missouri. Roughly half of the district's population is African American. Its current representative is Democrat Cori Bush, who was elected in 2020. William Lacy Clay, Jr., had previously represented the district since 2001, succeeding his father, William Lacy Clay, Sr. Bush, a progressive and leader in the Ferguson protests, beat Clay in the August 4, 2020 primary. Bush had lost the same primary in 2018 by 20 points to Clay.

North Hanley station is a St. Louis MetroLink station. Opened in 1993 near the North Hanley overpass of Interstate 70, it is primarily a commuter station with 1,731 park-and-ride spaces, including 657 in a garage, and a major bus transfer center in North St. Louis County. In 2022, the concrete area between the bus bays and MetroLink entrance was updated with vibrantly colored elements in a “Transit: We All Ride Together” theme, including shade structures, seating, musical elements, ground murals, and window designs. The fourth "Transit Stop Transformation" project to be completed, it was unveiled on October 12, 2022, by Citizens for Modern Transit, AARP in St. Louis, and Metro Transit in partnership with several local agencies.

UMSL–North station is a St. Louis MetroLink station. This station serves the North Campus of the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) including the Touhill Performing Arts Center, the Millennium Student Center, and the Recreation and Wellness Center. In the future, vacant land just to the north of the station could become home to a North St. Louis County recreation and athletics facility that would take advantage of a location near public transit and Interstate 70.

Bellerive Acres is a northern suburban city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 188 at the 2010 census. In April, 2015, the residents voted to change the village of Bellerive to a fourth class city named Bellerive Acres.It is the former site of Bellerive Country Club, which relocated southwest to Town and Country in 1959. Much of the former golf course is now occupied by the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

The St. Louis Mercantile Library, founded in 1846 in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, was originally established as a membership library, and is the oldest extant library west of the Mississippi River. Since 1998 the library has been housed at the University of Missouri-St. Louis as a Special Collections library within the Thomas Jefferson Library. The majority of library materials can be assigned to one of four categories: the General (Core) Collection, the John W. Barriger Railroad Library, the Herman T. Pott National Inland Waterways Library, or the Art Museum. The collections of the St. Louis Mercantile Library have been named a City Landmark by the city of St. Louis, Mo., due to the cultural significance of the library.

The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) is a public research university in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Established in 1963, it is the newest of the four universities in the University of Missouri System. Located on the former grounds of Bellerive Country Club, the university's campus stretches into the municipalities of Bellerive, Bel-Nor and Normandy. Additional facilities are located at the former site of Marillac College and at Grand Center, both in St. Louis city. Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral programs are offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business Administration, the College of Education, the College of Nursing, the School of Social Work, and the College of Optometry. The business school is AACSB-accredited and is the only public university in the St. Louis area to also be AACSB-accredited in accounting. Preprofessional, a joint engineering program with Washington University in St. Louis, and evening programs are also offered. UMSL is home of an optometry school, providing its students with a doctorate (OD). The Pierre Laclede Honors College is UMSL's honors program. UMSL is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".The university contains two libraries: The Thomas Jefferson Library which is the main library of the university and the St. Louis Mercantile Library which was founded in 1846 and is the oldest library west of the Mississippi River. The campus contains two stops on MetroLink, St. Louis' regional light rail system. A student center, academic buildings, parking structures, a performing arts center, and residential housing have been constructed over the past ten years as part of campus improvement programs. The university has a dual-enrollment agreement with the Gulf University for Science and Technology, Kuwait. KWMU (90.7 FM), which is the flagship National Public Radio station in the St. Louis area and known on-air as St. Louis Public Radio, is owned by and licensed to UMSL. UMSL has 10,431 students attending classes on-campus, compared to 6,010 students taking classes off-campus, which is mostly students dual-enrolled at area high schools. The university has the equivalent of 9,488 full-time students. UMSL has historically been a commuter school for the St. Louis, with only about 1200 students living on-campus.

Troy Doyle was appointed as the Chief of Police of Ferguson Police on Mar 27, 2023 by Interim City Manager John Hampton, and is Ferguson's Fifth African-American Chief of Police .A federal investigation by the United States Department of Justice initiated in the aftermath of the 2014 Ferguson unrest, found that the Ferguson police department routinely stereotyped and discriminated against African American residents in violation of the Constitution.

Pasadena Park is a village in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 470 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Normandy School District, and is distinct from the city of Pasadena Hills.
