The Burundian Ambassador to Belgium is the official representative of the Government of Burundi to the Government of Belgium. The Ambassador with residence in City of Brussels is concurrently accredited to the European Commission.

The Schuman tunnel is a 970m long rail tunnel in Brussels. It passes beneath avenue Clovis, square Ambiorix and the boulevard Charlemagne. The line running through it is the double track line 161 (Brussels-Namur). The speed limit in the tunnel is 50 km/h. The northern portal is under the Chaussée de Louvain station in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. The southern end contains the Brussels-Schuman station. The tunnel passes around the back of the Berlaymont building. Travelling northwards, the Schuman tunnel is followed by the Deschanel tunnel then the Josaphat tunnel. The tunnel takes its name from the politician Robert Schuman

The Saint-Cyr House (French: Maison Saint-Cyr, Dutch: Huis Saint-Cyr) is a town house in Brussels, Belgium. It was built by the architect Gustave Strauven, between 1901 and 1903, in Art Nouveau style. It is Strauven's most important building, and served as a private residence for the painter and decorator George Léonard de Saint-Cyr.The house is situated at 11, square Ambiorix/Ambiorixsquare in the Squares Quarter (eastern part of the City of Brussels). It is served by the bus stop Ambiorix (on lines 56, 60, 63 and 64).

The Jardin de la vallée du Maelbeek (French) or Maalbeekdaltuin (Dutch) is a small green space on the corner of Rue de la Loi/Wetstraat and Chaussé d'Etterbeek/Etterbeeksesteenweg at the heart of the European Quarter of Brussels (Belgium). It was inaugurated on 13 May 1951.The park is testimony to the local residents' struggle against the rapid urbanisation (or "Brusselization") in the quarter that lacked urban planning and new green spaces. The site was originally destined to be used for a new headquarters for the Council of the European Union (which eventually moved into the Justus Lipsius building across the road) but in the face of unanimous opposition the Belgian government tried to sell, what was then a temporary car park, it to property developers before it was converted into a local park.A miniature river in the park reflects the Maelbeek river which once flowed through the area, but is now channelled through an underground collector.

Saint-Josse-ten-Noode (French: [sɛ̃ ʒos ten nɔd]) or Sint-Joost-ten-Node (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪn ˈcoːst tɛn ˈnoːdə]), often simply called Saint-Josse or Sint-Joost, is one of the nineteen municipalities in the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium. It is bordered by the City of Brussels and Schaerbeek. On 1 January 2007, the municipality had a total population of 23,785. The total area is 1.14 km² which gives a population density of 20,664 inhabitants per km². From a total of 581 municipalities in Belgium, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode is both the smallest in area size and the most densely populated. In common with all of Brussels' municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch).

The Berlaymont (French pronunciation: ​[bɛʁlɛmɔ̃]) is an office building in Brussels, Belgium, which houses the headquarters of the European Commission, the executive branch of the European Union (EU). The structure is located at Schuman roundabout at 200, rue de la Loi/Wetstraat, in what is known as the "European Quarter". The unique form of the Berlaymont's architecture is used in the European Commission's official emblem.

The European Commission (EC) is the executive branch of the European Union (EU). It operates as a cabinet government, with 27 members of the Commission (informally known as "Commissioners") headed by a President. It includes an administrative body of about 32,000 European civil servants. The Commission is divided into departments known as Directorates-General (DGs) that can be likened to departments or ministries each headed by a Director-General who is responsible to a Commissioner. There is one member per member state, but members are bound by their oath of office to represent the general interest of the EU as a whole rather than their home state. The Commission President (currently Ursula von der Leyen) is proposed by the European Council (the 27 heads of state) and elected by the European Parliament. The Council of the European Union (informally known as the Council of Ministers) then nominates the other members of the Commission in agreement with the nominated President, and the 27 members as a team are then subject to a vote of approval by the European Parliament. The current Commission is the Von der Leyen Commission, which took office in December 2019, following the European Parliament elections in May of the same year The governmental powers of the Commission have been such that some, including former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, have suggested changing its name to the "European Government", calling the present name of the Commission "ridiculous", likening it to a misnomer.

The United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) is one of 63 United Nations Information Centres (UNICs) around the world. Their main task is to spread the UN message, raise awareness and create understanding of issues relating to the United Nations' objectives. UNRIC serves the Western European Region by providing and disseminating UN information material, UN reports and documents, press kits, posters, fact sheets and brochures. The intention is to reach out to all segments of society and therefore the UNRIC Reference Library is open to all inquiries about the UN via telephone, e-mail and post. UN documents and publications are available in English, French and Spanish, but some material is also available in other European languages. UNRIC maintains websites in 13 languages of the region: Danish, English, French, Finnish, German, Greek, Icelandic, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish and Spanish. Each version presents basic information on the UN, its structure, goals, main documents, affiliated agencies, employment/internship opportunities and main areas of work. Moreover, it gives information about the most important UN related events, activities and international observances, as well as the programs of UNRIC and the UN family in the region. UNRIC organizes information projects or campaigns with key partners, including governments, the media, NGOs, educational institutions and local authorities.
