Campi, also known as Campi di Norcia, is a frazione of the comune of Norcia in the province of Perugia, Umbria, Italy. The medieval village has a population of around 200 people. Many of its landmarks, including the Church of San Salvatore, were heavily damaged during the October 2016 Central Italy earthquakes.

Norcia (Italian pronunciation: [ˈnɔrtʃa]), traditionally known in English by its Latin name of Nursia (), is a town and comune in the province of Perugia (Italy) in southeastern Umbria. Unlike many ancient towns, it is located in a wide plain abutting the Monti Sibillini, a subrange of the Apennines with some of its highest peaks, near the Sordo River, a small stream that eventually flows into the Nera. The town is popularly associated with the Valnerina (the valley of that river). It is a member of the I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy") association.The area is known for its air and scenery, and is a base for mountaineering and hiking. It is also widely known for hunting, especially of the wild boar, and for sausages and ham made from wild boar and pork. Such products have been named after Norcia; in Italian, they are called norcineria.

San Salvatore (Italian: Chiesa di San Salvatore), also known as the pieve di Santa Maria, was a Roman Catholic church in Campi, a frazione in the comune of Norcia, Italy. Its existence is first documented in the 11th century, when it was a Benedictine church dedicated to Saint Mary. The church was rebuilt in the 14th century and enlarged in the late 15th century. In 1493, the church was rededicated to the Holy Saviour. The church was an example of Romanesque architecture, and its interior was richly decorated with frescoes. The building collapsed due to damage sustained in the October 2016 Central Italy earthquakes, and only part of the perimeter wall and a pile of rubble survived.

The Monastero di San Benedetto in Monte (English: Monastery of St. Benedict on the Mountain) is a male Benedictine community located in southeastern Umbria, just outside the city of Norcia, Italy. The monks exclusively use the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite as well as the traditional form of the Divine Office. They have become well known for their production of beer, the sale of which provides income for the monastery, as well as for their best-selling album of Gregorian chant. Until 2016, the monks were the custodians of the Basilica of San Benedetto in the center of Norcia, built above the birthplace of Saint Benedict of Nursia and Saint Scholastica. The Basilica and Monastery were destroyed in October 2016 in an earthquake which damaged much of Norcia and the surrounding area. As a result, the monks relocated to an abandoned Capuchin monastery and church located on a hillside 1.6 miles (2.6 km) east of the center of Norcia, where they have constructed temporary accommodations and are constructing a larger, permanent monastery.

An earthquake, measuring 6.2 ± 0.016 on the moment magnitude scale, hit Central Italy on 24 August 2016 at 03:36:32 CEST (01:36 UTC). Its epicentre was close to Accumoli, with its hypocentre at a depth of 4 ± 1 km, approximately 75 km (47 mi) southeast of Perugia and 45 km (28 mi) north of L'Aquila, in an area near the borders of the Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo and Marche regions. As of 15 November 2016, 299 people had been killed.

Accumoli is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio, located about 110 kilometres (68 mi) northeast of Rome and about 45 kilometres (28 mi) northeast of Rieti. It is located in the natural park known as the "Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park". Located at an altitude of 855 m above sea level in the Umbria-Marche Apennines, Accumoli is an enclave within the province of Ascoli Piceno. Until 1927, it was part of the province of Aquila in Abruzzo. The climate is typical internal Apennines with cold, snowy winters and summers almost never too hot.

Avendita (Italian pronunciation: [aˈvɛndita]) is a frazione of the comune of Cascia in the Province of Perugia, Umbria, central Italy. It stands at an elevation of 873 metres above sea level. At the time of the Istat census of 2001 it had 138 inhabitants.
