Espenhain

Hainer See is a lake near Borna, Saxony, Germany. At an elevation of 126 m, its surface area is 4 km2 (2 sq mi). The lake is a part of the Central German Lake District.

Pötzschau is a village and a former municipality in Saxony, Germany. Since 2015, it is part of the town Rötha. It consists of the smaller parts Großpötzschau, Kleinpötzschau and Dahlitzsch. Pötzschau is south-east of Leipzig in the valley of the creek Gösel.

Dreiskau-Muckern is an Ortsteil (division) of the municipality Großpösna in the Landkreis Leipzig in Saxony, Germany. It was formed in 1957 from the former municipalities Dreiskau and Muckern, and became part of Großpösna in 1997.

Thierbach Power Station was a brown coal-fired power station in the Leipzig Bay at Espenhain-Thierbach, Germany. It had a 300-metre-tall chimney, which belonged to the tallest free-standing structures of the former GDR (Eastern Germany).

Magdeborn was a village and a municipality south of Leipzig, Germany. It was in its last form a group of seven villages, named for Magdeborn which consisted only of church, vicary and school, which had served all of them. The name is derived from the castle Medeburu which was first mentioned in 969. Around 1940 a large housing area was added for workers of the brown coal mining in Espenhain. Between 1977 and 1980 Magdeborn had to give way to the mining, after all inhabitants (ca. 3200) had been moved from the end of the 1960s. Its area was added to the municipality of Störmthal.

The Schlumper is a river of Saxony, Germany.

The Wyhra (in its upper course: Wiera) is a river of Saxony and Thuringia, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Pleiße, which it joins near Lobstädt.

Rötha is a town in the Leipzig district, in Saxony, Germany. It is situated 16 km south of Leipzig. On 1 August 2015 it was expanded with the former municipality Espenhain.

Störmthal is a village, part of Großpösna in the Leipzig district in Saxony, Germany. It is known for its church in Baroque style. The organ, an early work by Zacharias Hildebrandt, was played and inaugurated by Johann Sebastian Bach and is still in mostly the condition of Bach's time.

Lobstädt is a village and a former municipality in the Leipziger Land district, in Saxony, Germany. On April 1, 2008 Lobstädt was incorporated into Neukieritzsch.

The Botanischer Garten für Arznei- und Gewürzpflanzen Oberholz (2 hectares), or less formally the Botanischer Garten Oberholz, is a botanical garden specializing in medical plants and spices. It is located at Störmthaler Weg 2 in Oberholz, a small suburb southeast of Großpösna, Leipzig, Saxony, Germany, and open daily in the warmer months; admission is free. The garden was established in 1936 as an adjunct to Leipzig Botanical Garden to provide pharmacists with a practical knowledge of medicinal and aromatic plants. It was revived in 1945, after World War II, by the initiative of a vocational teacher, and from 1948-2003 was maintained by the city of Leipzig as a municipal botanical garden. Since 2003 it has been maintained by the Association for Vocational Promotion of Women in Saxony. Today the garden contains over 400 species, and is cultivated as a teaching and display garden.

Neukieritzsch station is a station on the Leipzig–Hof and the Neukieritzsch–Chemnitz railways, which branches here, in Neukieritzsch in the German state of Saxony. The Neukieritzsch–Pegau railway, which has now been dismantled, also branched off here from 1909 until 1999.
