The Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) is a research centre located in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg.LISER is a Luxembourgish public research institute under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Its research focus lies in the field of social and economic policy, including the spatial dimension. This comprises topics like poverty, inequality, education, social inclusion, employment, unemployment, health, housing, mobility, and regional convergence. The aim is to improve the understanding of causal relationships and to provide sound evidence for the impact of institutional settings and policy options on outcomes. Based on empirical evidence, the institute aims at providing well-grounded and clear-cut answers to policy relevant questions. The results are published in form of research reports, monographs and scientific articles. LISER has been integrated into a unified legal framework for the Luxembourgish research institutes based on the law of 3 December 2014. It has an annual budget of approximately 18,5 million euro, of which 60% is allocated by the government, and 40% are coming from project related funding resources. Governmental funding is based on a multi-annual performance contract.

The Rockhal, officially Centre de Musiques Amplifiées, is a concert hall in Esch-sur-Alzette, in southern Luxembourg. It opened on 23 September 2005, has a maximum capacity of 6,500 people and is sited on the former industrial site of Belval in the west of Esch.

Belval-Université railway station (Luxembourgish: Gare Belval-Universitéit, French: Gare de Belval-Université, German: Bahnhof Belval-Universität) is a railway station serving the neighbourhood of Belval, in west of Esch-sur-Alzette, in southern Luxembourg. It is operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned railway company. The station is situated on Line 60, which connects Luxembourg City to the Red Lands of the south of the country. The station was formerly open as Belval-Usines but as part of the overall regeneration of the Belval district, the station was entirely rebuilt and modernised.

Russange (French pronunciation: [ʁysɑ̃ʒ]; German: Rüssingen; Luxembourgish: Réisseng; Lorraine Franconian: Réisséng/Réisseng) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

Ehlerange (Luxembourgish: Éilereng, German: Ehleringen) is a small town in the commune of Sanem, in south-western Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 729.

The National Museum of Resistance and Human Rights (Luxembourgish: Nationale Resistenzmusée; French: Musée National de la Résistance et des Droits Humains; German: Nationales Museum des Widerstands und der Menschenrechte) is located in the centre of Esch-sur-Alzette in the south-east of Luxembourg. The specially designed building (1956) traces the history of Luxembourg from 1940 to 1945 under the Nazi oppression, through the reactions of the people (passive resistance, resistance movements, forced enrolment, strike, refractory, Luxembourger in the maquis and in the Allied forces), until liberation, by photos, objects and works of art. There is also an exhibition of the Nazi concentration camps and the treatment of Luxembourg's Jews.

Lycée Hubert Clément (English: Hubert Clément High School), abbreviated to LHCE, is a high school in Esch-sur-Alzette, in south-western Luxembourg. It was founded as a single-sex girls school in 1955, paralleling Esch's all-boys school, Lycée de Garçons Esch-sur-Alzette, and was named Lycée de Jeunes Filles à Esch-sur-Alzette. Since the school became coeducational in 1970 and renamed the following year, the gender balance has been steadily eroded, particularly in mathematics (in which the majority of students are now boys).

Théâtre d’Esch is a theatre in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. Directed by Carole Lorang, the main auditorium has 517 numbered seats. The theatre puts on performances of operas, operettas, concerts, dance performances, variety, jazz, songs, musicals and other entertainment.The smaller hall, with 100 seats is commonly used for intimate jazz performances and poetry recitals and conferences. The building is also used for the presentation of art exhibitions.

Esch-sur-Alzette (French: [ɛʃ syʁ alzɛt]; Luxembourgish: Esch-Uelzecht [ˌæʒ ˈuəltsəɕt] ; German: Esch an der Alzette [ˈɛʃ ʔan deːɐ̯ ʔalˈzɛt] or Esch an der Alzig) is a city in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the country's second-most populous commune, with a population of 35,040 inhabitants, as of 2018. It lies in the south-west of the country, on the border with France and in the valley of the Alzette, which flows through the city. The city is usually referred to as just Esch; however, the full name distinguishes it from the village and commune of Esch-sur-Sûre which lies 45 kilometres (28 miles) further north. The country's capital, Luxembourg City, is roughly 15 km (9.3 mi) to the north-east. Esch was selected as the European Capital of Culture for 2022, alongside Kaunas and Novi Sad.

The Stade de la Frontière is a multi-purpose stadium in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Jeunesse Esch. The stadium holds 4,000 people.

Audun-le-Tiche (French pronunciation: [odɛ̃ lə tiʃ]; German: Deutsch-Oth; Luxembourgish: Däitsch-Oth) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in northeastern France.

Lycée de Garçons Esch-sur-Alzette (English: Esch-sur-Alzette High School for Boys), abbreviated to LGE, is a high school in Esch-sur-Alzette, in south-western Luxembourg. Despite the name, the LGE is not an all-boys school, but open to women since 1969. At the heart of the school is the original neo-classical building, built in 1909. This was first augmented in 1957, and the school underwent a rapid expansion in the 1960s and 1970s.It got visited by US Ambassador Thomas Barrett in 2022.
