The Hobart Synagogue is a heritage-listed synagogue located in 59 Argyle Street, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The synagogue is the oldest synagogue building in Australia and is a rare example of the Egyptian Revival style of synagogue architecture. The Egyptian Revival building was constructed in 1845. The trapezoidal shape of the windows and the columns with lotus capitals are characteristic of the Egyptian Revival style. Currently the Hobart Synagogue has regular Orthodox and Progressive services.The land on which the synagogue stands was originally part of the garden of former convict Judah Solomon. It has a seating capacity of 150 and features hard benches at the back of the building for the Jewish convicts who in the early days were marched in under armed guard. The synagogue is listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register.

Glebe is a suburb of Hobart, capital city of Tasmania, Australia. The suburb is a very small area adjacent to the city on the same part of land as the Queens Domain, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the Hobart Aquatic Centre. At the 2016 Australian Census the suburb recorded a population of 554.Glebe is a small suburb in comparison to some in Hobart. On the north and east sides, the suburb is surrounded by the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Brooker Avenue marks the western boundary of the suburb, while the Tasman Highway marks the southern side. The Glebe contains some examples of Victorian and Federation Style wooden terraced houses, some of which are up to 4 storeys high and tower over the Brooker Avenue impressively. Glebe was the birthplace and early home of brothers Ernest, Tasman and Arthur Higgins, all of whom became pioneering cinematographers of Australian cinema during the silent era.

Argo was a merchant ship built in 1806 at Chittagong, present-day Bangladesh. She was registered in Calcutta to Payne & Tyrce. She disappeared in 1814 off the coast of Tasmania after having been "run away with" by convicts.

Hobart City Centre (referred to as Hobart CBD) is a suburb surrounded by metropolitan Hobart, which comprises the original settlement, the central business district, and other built-up areas. It is the oldest part of Hobart and includes many of the city's important institutions and landmarks, such as Parliament, the Supreme Court, Franklin Square, the Elizabeth Street Mall, the Royal Hobart Hospital, the Theatre Royal, Odeon Theatre, State Library, the NAB Building, the Museum, and the Cenotaph. The city centre is located in the local government areas of the City of Hobart. Although the city centre is one of the oldest and most developed areas of Hobart, demographically it is one of the less densely populated areas in the greater area of Hobart, due to its core being commercial. In an attempt to create a more vibrant city at night, the state government has been encouraging inner city residential development in recent years. The population of the city centre was 3,390 in 2021.

The Royal Hobart Hospital is a public hospital in the Hobart CBD, Tasmania, Australia. The hospital also functions as a teaching hospital in co-operation with the University of Tasmania. The hospital's research facilities are known as the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation. Also close to the hospital site is the Menzies Research Institute. The hospital is run by the Tasmanian Government as part of the Department of Health and Human Services and is the largest hospital, and the largest employer, in Tasmania. The hospital provides services for all of southern Tasmania and has capacity for 400 patients. Many statewide services such as cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, major trauma, high-risk obstetrics, hyperbaric medicine, and neonatal intensive care are based at the hospital, with referrals coming in from the north and northwest. The main entrance underwent construction for a new underground emergency department. This began operation in early 2007 with surrounding construction ongoing. A more recent hospital redevelopment project was initiated with A$565 million in funding, including a new women's and children's precinct, cancer service, intensive care unit, and day surgery facility.

Railway Roundabout is a three-lane roundabout in Hobart, Tasmania. It is located on the Brooker Highway, at the top of Liverpool Street. It was originally built for the city's main railway station.At the centre of the roundabout is a fountain built in 1963. It was restored in 2013 after having been out of service for more than a decade.Railway Roundabout is the worst accident blackspot in Tasmania.In 2015, the Roundabout Appreciation Society awarded Railway Roundabout their "one-way gyratory accolade".
